About us

Founded in 2017, Wayve is the leading developer of Embodied AI technology. Our advanced AI software and foundation models enable vehicles to perceive, understand, and navigate any complex environment, enhancing the usability and safety of automated driving systems.

Our vision is to create autonomy that propels the world forward. Our intelligent, mapless, and hardware-agnostic AI products are designed for automakers, accelerating the transition from assisted to automated driving.

In our fast-paced environment big problems ignite us—we embrace uncertainty, leaning into complex challenges to unlock groundbreaking solutions. We aim high and stay humble in our pursuit of excellence, constantly learning and evolving as we pave the way for a smarter, safer future.

At Wayve, your contributions matter. We value diversity, embrace new perspectives, and foster an inclusive work environment; we back each other to deliver impact.

Make Wayve the experience that defines your career!

The role

Join Wayve to build the in‑vehicle interface that helps peoplesee and understand what an autonomous vehicle is doing in real time. You will turn complex AI outputs, camera feeds, and vehicle state into clear, trustworthy 2D and 3D visualisations that are used in moving vehicles every day. This role spans rapid iteration with real operators and the engineering depth needed for reliable, high-performance multi-platform systems. The impact is direct: you will shape how humans interact with autonomy and how the organisation diagnoses and improves on-road behaviour.

Key responsibilities:

  • Build and evolve an in‑vehicle web application that visualises camera feeds, vehicle state, and system outputs for live operation, demos, and diagnostics.
  • Design and deliver 3D spatial visualisations of the vehicle’s surroundings (trajectories, perception meshes, occupancy, overlays) using WebGL / Three.js / similar.
  • Integrate high-frequency real-time data streams and backend services into a responsive, performant UI that runs reliably in constrained environments.
  • Partner closely with Vehicle Safety Operators and engineers to understand workflows, iterate quickly based on field feedback, and improve usability and operational efficiency.
  • Own technical quality and long-term maintainability: architecture, testing, observability, performance tuning, and clear end-to-end feature ownership across the stack.

About you

In order to set you up for success as a Fullstack Software Engineer at Wayve, we’re looking for the following skills and experience.

Essential

  • Strong JavaScript/TypeScript + React experience building production-grade web applications end-to-end.
  • Experience building browser-based 3D visualisations (WebGL, Three.js, React Three Fiber, or similar).
  • Proven ability to integrate frontends with backend services and real-time, high-frequency data streams.
  • Strong engineering fundamentals around performance, reliability, testing, and maintainable system design, with clear ownership and high autonomy.
  • Ability to work closely with users and stakeholders (operators and engineers), iterate quickly based on feedback, and still ship robust solutions.
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills, including diagnosing issues across UI, data pipelines, and runtime/perf bottlenecks.

Desirable

  • Experience shipping software in constrained or safety-critical environments (for example, in-vehicle, edge, intermittent connectivity).
  • Experience working across multi-platform systems (web + mobile/Android) and designing cohesive architectures across them.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership: setting direction, mentoring, and driving quality improvements (observability, scalability, robustness).
  • Experience with UI performance and rendering optimisation, especially for complex scenes or data-heavy visualisations.
  • Familiarity with streaming architectures, pub/sub, or telemetry systems that support real-time visualisation and monitoring.

This is a full-time role based in our office in London. At Wayve we want the best of all worlds so we operate a hybrid working policy that combines time together in our offices and workshops to fuel innovation, culture, relationships and learning, and time spent working from home.

Wayve is committed to creating an inclusive interview experience. If you require any accommodations or adjustments to participate fully in our interview process, please let us know

We understand that everyone has a unique set of skills and experiences and that not everyone will meet all of the requirements listed above. If you’re passionate about self-driving cars and think you have what it takes to make a positive impact on the world, we encourage you to apply.

Where to Advertise Machine Learning Jobs in the UK (2026 Guide)

Advertising machine learning jobs in the UK requires a different approach to most technical hiring. The candidate pool is small, highly specialised and in demand across AI labs, financial services, healthcare, autonomous systems and consumer technology simultaneously. Machine learning engineers and researchers move between roles through professional networks, conference communities and specialist platforms — not general job boards where ML roles compete with unrelated software engineering positions for the same audience. This guide, published by MachineLearningJobs.co.uk, covers where to advertise machine learning roles in the UK in 2026, how the main platforms compare, what employers should expect to pay, and what the data says about hiring across different role types.

New Machine Learning Employers to Watch in 2026: UK and Global Companies Driving ML Innovation

Machine learning (ML) has transitioned from a specialised field into a core business capability. In 2026, organisations across healthcare, finance, robotics, autonomous systems, natural language processing, and analytics are expanding their machine learning teams to build scalable intelligent products and services. For professionals exploring opportunities on www.MachineLearningJobs.co.uk , understanding the companies that are scaling, winning investment, or securing high‑impact contracts is crucial. This article highlights the new and high‑growth machine learning employers to watch in 2026, focusing on UK innovators, international firms with significant UK presence, and global platforms investing in machine learning talent locally.

How Many Machine Learning Tools Do You Need to Know to Get a Machine Learning Job?

Machine learning is one of the most exciting and rapidly growing areas of tech. But for job seekers it can also feel like a maze of tools, frameworks and platforms. One job advert wants TensorFlow and Keras. Another mentions PyTorch, scikit-learn and Spark. A third lists Mlflow, Docker, Kubernetes and more. With so many names out there, it’s easy to fall into the trap of thinking you must learn everything just to be competitive. Here’s the honest truth most machine learning hiring managers won’t say out loud: 👉 They don’t hire you because you know every tool. They hire you because you can solve real problems with the tools you know. Tools are important — no doubt — but context, judgement and outcomes matter far more. So how many machine learning tools do you actually need to know to get a job? For most job seekers, the real number is far smaller than you think — and more logically grouped. This guide breaks down exactly what employers expect, which tools are core, which are role-specific, and how to structure your learning for real career results.
