Overview

We are currently looking for a commercially-savvy Programme Manager to work with our consumer clients. Our work within this domain has led to the creation of numerous world-firsts and paradigm shifting technologies.

As you would be joining at a senior level within the organisation, you will have the opportunity to partner with our commercial team to lead clients towards programmes that develop solutions to solve some of the world’s most complex engineering, technology, and design problems.

What to Expect

The Programme Management sector within Cambridge Consultants is an absolutely essential function to enable delivery of these projects, and our PMs are viewed as integral leaders. Due to the nature of Cambridge Consultants, we work with our clients to not only solve but identify the technology challenges that they are facing now, and into the future. Our PMs play a key role working directly with these clients alongside our Business Developers and Technical Leads from the very beginning to uncover these challenges, and then help guide them to a solution.

You’ll have the support of our Subject Matter Experts to size and shape the project that best delivers the solution; you will help identify an approach that fits both Cambridge Consultants and the client, as well as pulling together and driving the project teams.

Due to the extremely complex, technical, and innovative nature of the projects, and your involvement being not only in the administration, but definition and leadership of such projects we’re looking for candidates that bring a combination of highly developed project management skills, people skills, as well as hands-on technical industry experience to bear.

This role provides the chance to actively contribute to the global technology landscape, successfully delivering some of the most innovative projects in the world, as well as offering significant opportunity for progression within our business.

Your specific responsibilities will vary according to your expertise but are likely to include:

  • Developing project proposals that meet our clients’ commercial and technical requirements – this will be for clients anywhere in the world
  • Management of the delivery of projects that solve complex, multi-disciplinary technical challenges, across multi-office teams
  • Team building and leadership of multiple project teams
  • Capturing technical product requirements and resolving system level discussions, requiring a strong technical background
  • Running meetings with clients, presenting and communicating ideas and concepts to all disciplines
  • Working with Business Developers in building relationships with clients to understand their programme needs.

This role will require some international travel but is focussed on managing project teams within the Cambridge office. We have adopted a hybrid working model, with a mix of both home and office working, based on project need although we would expect the job holder to be in the office the majority of the time.

Where to Advertise Machine Learning Jobs in the UK (2026 Guide)

Where to advertise machine learning jobs UK in 2026: the specialist boards and communities that reach ML, MLOps and deep learning engineering talent. The candidate pool is small, highly specialised and in demand across AI labs, financial services, healthcare, autonomous systems and consumer technology simultaneously. Machine learning engineers and researchers move between roles through professional networks, conference communities and specialist platforms — not general job boards where ML roles compete with unrelated software engineering positions for the same audience. This guide, published by MachineLearningJobs.co.uk, covers where to advertise machine learning roles in the UK in 2026, how the main platforms compare, what employers should expect to pay, and what the data says about hiring across different role types.

Machine Learning Jobs UK 2026: What to Expect Over the Next 3 Years

Machine Learning Jobs UK 2026: roles, salaries and the MLOps, LLM and generative AI hiring trends shaping UK ML careers over the next three years. Machine learning has undergone a transformation that few technology disciplines can match. In the space of three years it has moved from a specialism sitting at the edges of most organisations' technology strategies to a capability that sits at the centre of them. The tools have changed, the expectations have shifted, and the range of industries treating machine learning as a core business function — rather than an experimental one — has expanded dramatically. For job seekers, this creates both opportunity and complexity in roughly equal measure. The machine learning jobs market of 2026 is significantly larger than it was three years ago, but it is also significantly more demanding. Employers have developed more sophisticated expectations, the technical bar for specialist roles has risen, and the landscape of tools, frameworks, and architectural patterns that practitioners are expected to know has broadened considerably. The candidates who will thrive over the next three years are those who understand where the discipline is heading — which specialisms are attracting the most investment, which technologies are reshaping what machine learning engineers and researchers are expected to build, and how the definition of a machine learning career is evolving beyond the model-building core toward a much wider range of roles across the full ML lifecycle. This article breaks down what the UK machine learning jobs market is likely to look like through to 2028 — covering the titles emerging right now, the technologies driving employer demand, the skills that will matter most, and how to position your career ahead of the curve.
