The Opportunity

A leading international wealth and financial planning business is seeking an Asset & Liability Model Development Lead to play a key role in the evolution of its advanced financial modelling and projection capabilities.

This position sits at the intersection of financial modelling, software development, and product innovation, with responsibility for enhancing a sophisticated life-planning and asset/liability modelling engine used to support complex client decision-making.

The successful candidate will help shape the technical architecture of the modelling platform, translate business requirements into scalable engine specifications, and work closely with product, client-facing, and engineering teams to deliver robust analytical solutions.

Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Modelling & Architecture
  1. Lead the design and development of sophisticated asset and liability models.
  2. Translate complex wealth planning concepts into practical, scalable modelling solutions.
  3. Ensure models remain robust, adaptable, and suitable for evolving market conditions and client requirements.
  4. Contribute to the enhancement of the organisation’s core calculation and projection engine.
Execution & Operations
  1. Develop validation frameworks to improve model accuracy and data integrity.
  2. Support the management of model release processes and deployment of updated parameters.
  3. Identify and resolve modelling anomalies through structured testing and governance processes.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  1. Convert client and advisory feature requests into clear technical specifications.
  2. Partner with product and engineering teams to integrate models into new platform capabilities.
  3. Provide technical guidance on modelling assumptions and behavioural outcomes to internal stakeholders.
Research & Innovation
  1. Monitor industry best practice in financial modelling, quantitative analysis, AI/ML applications in finance, and behavioural economics.
  2. Identify opportunities to enhance analytical capability and create competitive differentiation through advanced modelling techniques.
Candidate Profile

We are looking for an individual with:

  1. Strong experience in asset & liability modelling, financial projection modelling, or wealth planning analytics.
  2. A solid understanding of financial modelling architecture and quantitative frameworks.
  3. Experience working with software engineering or development teams to deliver modelling solutions.
  4. The ability to translate complex financial concepts into buildable technical requirements.
  5. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  6. Strong stakeholder management and communication capabilities.
  7. Exposure to wealth management, private banking, financial planning, or investment advisory environments is advantageous.
