We are now launching a new Global Shared Service Centre in Sofia. This hub is the strategic heart of our international finance and people operations, and we are looking for an excellent Accounts Receivable Specialist to be part of our growing team.

About the role

As an Accounts Receivable Specialist, you'll be a vital part of our finance department, playing a key role in keeping our day-to-day operations running smoothly. You'll learn the ropes of raising customer invoices and managing customer receipts and resolving queries from both customers and our own Ocado colleagues.

This isn't just about processing numbers; it's about understanding how a large, successful business operates financially. You'll gain exposure to our financial systems, contribute to improving processes, and ensure everything we do is compliant with financial regulations and relevant Ocado policies. Requirements:

  • Raising customer invoices in different currencies, ensuring accuracy and adherence to strict timelines.
  • Raising and dispatching credit notes, while collaborating closely with internal departments to investigate and resolve billing queries.
  • Allocating incoming cash and cheques to the correct accounts, and proactively resolving any discrepancies.
  • Supporting the cash collection process by engaging with customers to ensure timely payments .
  • Dispatching monthly customer statements and dunning letters.
  • Producing management information such as KPI’s.
  • Serving as a point of contact for both external and internal customers, resolving queries with a service-oriented mindset.
  • Developing and maintaining a strong relationship with stakeholders to ensure seamless operations and customer satisfaction.

Essential Criteria

  • You are ready to step up for the first time or scale your existing Accounts Receivable expertise within a collaborative team.
  • Proficient in English.

Tech-Savvy: Comfortable navigating financial software (intermediate Excel skills are a significant advantage).

  • You are comfortable managing transactions in different currencies.
  • You have the confidence to navigate debt collection and resolve financial issues proactively.
  • You are comfortable working in a high-volume environment and can stay organized while multitasking and prioritizing your workload.
  • You possess effective verbal and written communication skills, allowing you to explain financial information clearly and build strong relations with both internal colleagues and external customers.
  • You are able to successfully collaborate with different departments to ensure financial compliance and operational success.
  • You are passionate about what you do, bringing a “can-do” attitude and a self-starting approach to every task.
