Join Our Team as a ICT Senior Data Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our team. This role focuses on managing and transitioning data from traditional on-premises SQL environments to Azure cloud solutions, with a special emphasis on master data management using MS Azure SQL. The successful candidate will be key in integrating various Management Information System (MIS) databases with Azure master data repositories. Responsibilities:

  • Lead the project to migrate on-premises SQL databases to Azure, ensuring minimal disruption to services.
  • Develop and execute strategies for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) to transition from on-premises to Azure environments.
  • Database Integration: connect on-premises MIS systems to Azure SQL databases and integrate cloud-based MIS systems through API connections to Azure master data, facilitating seamless data exchange using identifiers like Gazetteer UPRN (Unique Property Reference Number).
  • Ensure all data handling complies with UK GDPR and other relevant regulations.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

In addition, we require an individual with a degree of fluency in the Welsh language. A successful applicant without the required Welsh language skill will be fully supported to reach the desired standard within two years of appointment.

  • Civil Registration:Births, deaths, and marriages.
  • Corporate Customer Services:Blue badge, contact centre, mailroom, scanning, receptions.
  • ICT and Information Management:Archives, modern records, ICT support, infrastructure, security, project and application support, reprographics, technical support, software development.
  • Library Services

Canolfan Rheidol in Aberystwyth, our award-winning office, offers an excellent space for collaborative working with its open plan design.

Aberystwyth is a lively university town and seaside resort, known for its promenade and pier, and as the setting of the TV drama Hinterland.
