Overview

We're looking for a hands-on, business-minded Senior Business Intelligence & Insights Analyst who thrives on turning complex data into clear, actionable insights that drive performance, profitability, and strategic growth.

You'll collaborate across all departments to help embed a data-informed culture across our business. This is not just a reporting role, it's about seeing the bigger picture, connecting the dots, and helping the business make smarter, faster decisions.

You'll work closely with the Finance Director and Business Change Manager to deliver reporting, analysis and decision support that helps us improve our business performance and supports our long-term ambition to double output by 2030.

As we mature our data capability, this role will also play a critical part in understanding business requirements, facilitating stakeholder engagement, and ensuring our data and insights directly translate into business action and operational improvements.

Key Responsibilities

Insight & Reporting

  • Deliver contextual, actionable insights that accelerate performance and support decision-making at all levels
  • Use Power BI, SQL and Excel to design dashboards and reports that clearly communicate key performance
  • metrics and financial outcomes
  • Handle data analysis to uncover trends, patterns and risks using advanced analytical and storytelling techniques
  • Get to the Root - Identify business problems and opportunities through data analysis and stakeholder collaboration

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Collaborate to Elevate - Work with leaders and managers across the business to understand their needs and translate them into insight-led outputs
  • Run effective requirements-gathering workshops and proactively engage stakeholders in data-driven problem solving
  • Prepare user-friendly reports, presentations and briefings for senior leadership and external stakeholders
  • Act as primary liaison between data/technical teams and business users, ensuring clear communication

Operational & Strategic Analysis

  • Partner with Finance Director - Support business planning with deep dives into operational efficiency, financial performance, market trends and forecasting
  • Perform root cause analysis to reduce failure demand and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Lead or contribute to bespoke analysis and research projects aligned with strategic goals
  • Conduct cost-benefit analysis and ROI calculations for proposed initiatives supporting Cameron's growth ambitions

Business Process & Requirements Analysis

  • Map It, Make It Better - Use data analysis to identify process inefficiencies and improvement opportunities across departments
  • Gather, document, and analyse business requirements from stakeholders for data and reporting needs
  • Support change management initiatives and adoption of new processes through data insights
  • Coordinate User Acceptance Testing for new analytical tools and reports

Data Quality, Governance & Tools

  • Maintain and evolve existing reporting tools, ensuring high standards of accuracy, consistency and reliability
  • Champion strong data governance and work with the ICT/Data team to improve data infrastructure and tooling
  • Identify and Escalate Dashboard Issues - Spot problems with business dashboards and reporting tools from a user perspective
  • Stay curious and forward-thinking: explore emerging techniques and support future data capability development

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Degree qualified in a relevant field (e.g. Maths, Economics, Data Science, Business Analytics, Business Studies)
  • Proven senior level experience in a business intelligence, data analysis, or business analysis role with strong Power BI, Excel and SQL capabilities
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with ability to "get to the root" of business problems
  • Strong data manipulation and visualisation skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and able to present complex findings simply and clearly
  • Strong understanding of business processes and performance drivers
  • Experience with stakeholder management and requirements gathering
  • Experience creating intuitive dashboards and visual outputs in Power BI to engage a range of audiences
  • Understanding of business case development and cost-benefit analysis
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies and UAT coordination
  • Understanding of CRM or ERP data structures

Desirable Skills

  • Knowledge of housing, construction or property sectors
  • Experience with process mapping tools such as Visio
  • Experience with other BI tools (Tableau, Qlik, etc.)
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis and A/B testing principles
  • Understanding of financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Experience working with Finance teams and financial reporting
  • Knowledge of data governance principles
  • Familiarity with predictive analytics concepts
  • Experience with Google Analytics or similar web analytics tools
