The Company
An AI startup headquartered in London that we’re working with recently boosted by a successful Series A funding round led by renowned venture capital firms. At the forefront of agentic AI innovation, this company’s technology solutions empower industries to streamline operations and elevate decision-making. Having rapidly scaled to a team of 50, they are now positioned for significant expansion, with plans to double their headcount and extend their product reach globally.

To support this growth, the CTO is seeking an experiencedVP of Technologyto partner closely in refining technical strategy, enhancing operational efficiency, and building a world-class technical team.

The Role
The VP of Technology will work side-by-side with the CTO to architect and implement the company’s technical roadmap, focusing on scalability, product innovation, and delivery excellence. This role involves overseeing engineering processes, optimizing technical operations, and ensuring alignment between product development and the company’s strategic goals.

You will take a hands-on approach to leading technical initiatives, establishing best practices, and fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture within the engineering team. Your leadership will be crucial in defining and achieving key technical milestones, while also setting up frameworks for quality, security, and performance at scale.

This position requires a tech-forward, strategic thinker who thrives in high-growth environments, bringing both deep technical expertise and a business-oriented mindset. With a collaborative, remote-first team structure, the company also maintains a London office to support in-person teamwork as needed.

The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate for the VP of Technology role is an experienced engineering leader with a track record of scaling teams and delivering complex projects in tech-focused startups, ideally within AI or machine learning. You are adept at aligning technology solutions with business goals, guiding teams through transformation, and ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality, impactful products. You also have a strategic outlook with the ability to execute tactically, and you bring strong communication skills that make you an effective bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders.

The Future
With a robust funding round behind them, the company’s roadmap includes ambitious goals to scale headcount, enhance technical infrastructure, and increase market penetration. The VP of Technology will play a key role in supporting the CTO in shaping the technical vision and laying the groundwork for the next phase of growth, from process optimization to team development and strategic innovation.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience as a VP of Technology, Head of Engineering, or similar role in a high-growth tech startup, preferably with AI or advanced analytics.
  • Proven success in developing and scaling engineering teams, with a focus on team efficiency, structure, and innovation.
  • Strong technical expertise in scalable architectures, cloud infrastructure, and data engineering.
  • A collaborative leader with excellent communication skills, who can align technical and business strategy and support cross-functional teams effectively.
