Technical Lead – Software Engineering (Golang – Backend) 
Location:London (UK) or Frankfurt (Germany) 
Working Style:Hybrid –predominantly remote working with office presence typically once a week

Requirements

Your Day-to-Day 

 

Technical Leadership:  

  • Designing, building, and deploying robust software applications including event-driven microservices, infrastructure, monitoring tools, and platform tooling. 
  • Working closely with your Engineering Manager and Product Manager to guide, support, and motivate your team in building high-quality, secure, and performant software that meets user and business needs. 
  • Leading and contributing to technical designs, providing thoughtful input and helping your teammates make sound architectural decisions while identifying and addressing potential future challenges within the team’s scope. 
  • Promoting engineering best practices within the team, helping to raise the bar on code quality, testing, and delivery processes, while sharing insights and approaches that can positively influence the wider engineering organisation. 

Cross-Functional Collaboration:  

  • Working closely with colleagues across disciplines from product to data engineering, to deliver high-quality solutions. 

Mentoring:  

  • Supporting and guiding team members, sharing knowledge and helping others grow in a collaborative and inclusive environment. 

Driving Improvement:  

  • Constantly looking for ways to evolve our systems and processes in line with industry trends. 

 

What You’ll Bring (and build on your existing knowledge): 

 

Technical Know-How:  

  • Develop scalable applications using Golang and Angular, with Postgres and Kafka at the core. You build it, you run it and help evolve our infrastructure-as-code setup on GCP using Terraform. 

Microservices Mastery:  

  • Design and implement scalable, event-driven architectures to create resilient systems. 

Containerisation:  

  • Use Kubernetes and Docker to manage cloud-native applications efficiently and reliably.
