Brief Summary

Venn Group are seeking a DV cleared Technical Architect with police experience to support the Senior Architect in providing Enterprise design and support expertise for a range of ICT Projects.

Main duties of the job:

  • Document current “As-Is” and future “To-Be” designs for projects
  • Designing solutions
  • Creating Architecture diagrams/data sets to help communicate the changes occurring across CTP
  • Identifying technical experiments to validate design decisions
  • Work across projects and with other architects to ensure that all systems align to the Strategic vision and any technical debt identified
  • Ensure that any architectural dependencies between projects are understood, documented and accepted

Skills/ Qualifications:

  • Experience of designing systems via Architectural Frameworks especially TOGAF
  • Police Experience
  • Active DV Clearance
  • Understanding of ITIL and Agile methodologies.
  • Experience in writing Design Documentation suitable for accreditation at up to IL5
  • Experience of working with Accreditor to ensure the design meets the needs of the security standards being applied for IL5
  • Demonstrate Expert knowledge in the design and build of resilient designs
  • Expertise of documenting business processes using BPMN (or similar frameworks)

Competence in a wide range of the following areas (You do not need everything)


Designing a Microsoft Windows environment with a significant combination of the following components:

  • Windows Server
  • Microsoft SQL server
  • Active Directory
  • GPO
  • High Availability services
  • Windows desktop / VDI
  • Certificates and PKI design
  • RSA Tokens

Experience designing network infrastructure with a significant combination of the following key components:

  • Cisco Routing / Switches
  • TCP/IP
  • Network Services (DNS/DHCP/NTP)
  • Intrusion protection & Detection
  • Expertise of designing solutions hosted on AWS including their Well Architected Framework and Landing Zones (experience of PALZ is a bonus)
  • Expertise of designing and working with AzureAD and Office 365 Services
  • Expertise of designing a Linux environment within a larger Windows environment
  • Expertise of VMware Virtualisation

Expertise of designing and developing software solutions using2 or more of the following:

  • NET (VB, C#, ASP.NET, .NET CORE)
  • MVC Framework
  • Python
  • JavaScript (REACT, Bootstrap Frameworks)
  • Database design
  • SQL / SQL Server
  • NoSQL technologies e.g. MongoDB, Hadoop, etc.
