About The Role Within the Product & Data Engineeringgroup we are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join theExperimentation and Personalization Data team. This team isdirectly responsible for several critical data products andservices that power A/B testing, personalization, and targetedcampaigns across our streaming platforms. The ideal candidate forthis role will have a strong technical background and is passionateabout designing and building systems to process data at scale toprovide business value and unlock powerful insights. Our tech stackincludes AWS, Databricks, Airflow, Spark, and languages includeScala, Python, Kotlin and Typescript. What Youll Do * Contribute tothe design and growth of our Data Products and Services enablingexperimentation and personalization at petabyte scale, workingacross the stack from big data to backend services and APIsMaintain detailed documentation of your work and changes to supportdata quality and data governance * Work with stakeholders andpartner teams to identify and solve business needs in the domain ofdata and data access, particularly in the space of usingexperimentation and data to improve our product and customerexperience * Ensure high operational efficiency and quality of yoursolutions to meet SLAs and support commitment to our customers * Bean active participant and advocate of agile practice to ensurehealth and process improvements for your team Basic Qualifications5+ years of relevant software or data engineering experience *Familiarity with data pipelines and orchestration frameworks(Spark, Hadoop, Databricks, Airflow) * Demonstrated expertise inmodeling data to support business needs at scale * Knowledge of APIdesign and best practices, including REST and GraphQL * Strongprogramming skills in Java, Scala or Python * You are a problemsolver with strong attention to detail and excellent analytical andcommunication skills, who will collaborate to build greenfieldsolutions with high business value Preferred Qualifications *Experience working with A/B testing, bandits, or other mechanismsfor measuring product performance in a controlled fashionUnderstanding of approaches to model conversion and engagement inthe context of a streaming application * Experience with: Java,Scala, Python, GraphQL, Databricks, Airflow, AWS Required EducationBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems,Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparablefield of study, and/or equivalent work experience AdditionalInformation #DISNEYTECH The hiring range for this position inSeattle, Washington and New York, NY is $145,500 to $195,000 peryear. Santa Monica, CA is $138,900 to $186,200 per year, SanFrancisco, CA is $152,100 to $203,900 per year. The base payactually offered will take into account internal equity and alsomay vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region,job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part ofthe compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical,financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level andposition offered.
