This role involves overseeing the development of a sandbox environment for experimentation, building sample use cases, and ensuring that the team stays at the forefront of AI technology. The Senior Director will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, drive innovation, and champion the integration of AI solutions across the organization.What you’ll ownStrategic Leadership:Develop and execute a strategic vision for the AI and Innovation Team, aligning with the broader goals of the OCTO.Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in AI, ensuring the team adopts the latest technologies and methodologies.Team Management and Development:Lead and mentor a diverse team of AI developers and testers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.Identify and address skill gaps, ensuring the team has the necessary expertise to achieve its objectives.Environment Development:Oversee the creation and maintenance of a sandbox environment for AI experimentation and development.Ensure the sandbox is secure, scalable, and user-friendly, enabling teams across the organization to explore AI solutions.AI Solutions and Use Case Development:Guide the team in developing and programming AI solutions using large language models (LLMs).Build and document sample use cases that demonstrate the potential applications of generative AI.Collaboration and Communication:Partner with internal teams and stakeholders to identify high-impact AI use cases and integrate AI solutions into existing workflows.Communicate the team’s progress, achievements, and challenges to senior leadership and other stakeholders.Quality Assurance and Best Practices:Ensure rigorous testing and validation of AI models and solutions, maintaining high standards of quality and performance.Promote best practices in AI development and implementation, driving consistency and excellence.Innovation and Continuous Improvement:Foster a culture of innovation, encouraging the team to explore new ideas and approaches.Implement feedback loops and continuous improvement processes to refine AI solutions and methodologies.Other Leadership duties as assigned.What you bringBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.Minimum of 10 years of experience in AI development, software engineering, or a related field, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.Proven track record of leading and managing high-performing technical teams.Deep understanding of large language models (LLMs) and experience with AI/ML technologies.Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships across the organization.Demonstrated ability to drive innovation and continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism.Preferred Skills:Experience in building and maintaining environments for AI experimentation.Familiarity with agile development methodologies and best practices.Proficiency in AI/ML programming languages and frameworks (e.g., Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch).Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on delivering results.Worldpay perks - what we’ll bring for youWe know it’s bigger than just your career.
