Scope:

Akkodis is launching a new technical delivery team to drive a UK national program in collaboration with key partners, designed to transform and future-proof the central government's workforce. By leveraging cutting-edge technology, strategic partnerships, and a comprehensive SaaS-based platform, this program will create an advanced, candidate-centric experience tailored to meet tomorrow's public sector skill demands.

This role focuses on designing, implementing, and managing scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions on the AWS platform. As an AWS Solution Architect, you will collaborate with stakeholders, leverage industry best practices, and ensure seamless integration of cloud solutions.

Role:

Design scalable, reliable, and secure cloud architectures using AWS services.
Lead deployment of AWS-based solutions optimised for performance, cost, and security.
Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Analyse and optimise AWS costs through efficient resource utilisation.
Ensure compliance with security and governance best practices.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development teams.
Prepare and maintain comprehensive solution design documentation.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in cloud environments.
Stay updated on emerging AWS services, tools, and trends.

Responsibilities:

Cloud Architecture Design: Implement scalable, reliable cloud systems.
Solution Implementation: Deploy and optimise AWS solutions.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Bridge technical and business requirements.
Cost Optimisation: Reduce and manage AWS expenditure.
Security and Compliance: Adhere to governance protocols.
Technical Leadership: Mentor teams and foster innovation.
Documentation: Maintain detailed technical specifications.
Problem-Solving: Resolve advanced cloud environment issues.
Continuous Improvement: Enhance capabilities with cutting-edge AWS tools.

Required Skills:

Core AWS services expertise: EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, IAM (SAML), EMR, Redshift, and more.
Infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, AWS CloudFormation).
Networking concepts: VPC, CIDR, WAF, and firewalls in AWS.
CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
Programming proficiency in Python or Java.
Familiarity with Adobe Experience Manager, Sprinklr, and similar platforms.
Knowledge of Microsoft VDI and 365 administration.

Required Experience:

3-5 years of AWS solutions architecture.
Proven large-scale application design on AWS.
Experience in hybrid or multi-cloud environments.
Knowledge of containerisation (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
AI/ML and serverless architectures familiarity.
Monitoring and logging tool expertise (e.g., CloudWatch).

Required Education:

Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
AWS Solution Architect Associate or Professional certification (mandatory).
