We encourage flexible working arrangements and support hybrid working wherever possible, so you can always be at your best - wherever and whenever you work.What you'll be doing:This role will offer you multiple interfaces with a wide range of other areas including Critical Parts Lifing, Materials teams, Managed Service providers, other IT organisations as required.To work with the Critical Parts Lifing team to determine software requirements based on both new and pre-existing practices and methodology.To assist in classifying the criticality of any solutions and follow the appropriate code quality and standards.To develop and document software that meets those requirements, mostly in Python.To support the deployment, testing, and continued maintenance of this software throughout its lifecycle - whether developed internally or externally.Where appropriate, to identify opportunities within CPL to optimise and innovate existing engineering processes into modern software architectures within the existing application ecosystem.To deliver against programme milestones within agreed cost, timescale and quality requirements.To be a point of contact between the mechanical integrity discipline and other functions and/or suppliers.What we're looking for:At Rolls-Royce we embrace agility, are bold, pursue collaboration and seek simplicity in everything we do. Curious, self-motivated, and confident to challenge when appropriate.Experienced with embedded software in a relevant safety critical industry.Experienced with embedded hardware platforms and programming (ideally with C/Ada).Highly Desirable:Proficiency in Python and its mathematically aligned libraries.Proficiency in code testing.Proficiency in batch scripting and Windows automation scripting.Experience of code documentation practices.Experience in automation of data mining, validation, processing, or visualisation.Experience in software development cycle.Experience in a role relating to requirement capture or stakeholder management.Preferable:Appreciation of Critical Part Lifing.Experience in distributed and/or High Performance Computing methodology, or microservice architecture (Google Cloud, AWS, etc...)Experience with desktop or web UI/UX/HMI.Familiarity with automation tools or other languages relevant to automation.Familiarity with statistical models, functional understanding of machine learning and/or engineering mathematics.Job CategorySoftware SystemsPosting Date19 Mar 2025; 00:03Posting End Date02 Apr 2025PandoLogic.
