The Opportunity:
We are looking for a motivated and experienced subject matter professional who has deep knowledge and experience in the data architecture function and is familiar with large organization IT Service Management (ITSM) and ITIL frameworks.
Specifically, we are looking for a Data Architect who can confidently assess, design, and manage the Firms Common Service Data Model (CDSM) and Configuration Management Database (CMDB) focused on advocating for the data architecture's efficiency, effectiveness, policy compliance, and alignment to industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
* This position will be responsible for overseeing the data infrastructure to extract and organize data for authorized individuals to access.
* The duties include identifying and actively tracking internal and external data sources, collaborating with stakeholders to determine/ validate their data needs, maintain appropriate hygiene in the CMDB, advocating for a data architecture which is aligned with enterprise architecture guidelines and the Firm's technology strategy and principles.
* This position will be working with a number of other groups such as Enterprise Architecture, Data Managers, Policy and Process managers, in addition to Platform and supporting tooling managers- this includes reporting on the data architecture status across the Firm with the IT Service Management functional leads, key business services, and appropriate governance and leadership forums.
* Additionally, the role requires the establishment of a data architecture working group framework to ensure documented requirements are clearly drafted and standardized, support the triage and prioritisation of new or changing requirements, tracking & documenting decisions, and oversee the implementation of the work into production.
* The role requires production of documentation and plans to firm standards, ensure deliverables are met, facilitates audits & exams, risks and issues controlled, status communicated, and evolving requirements are accounted for through change processes.
* As Data Architect your primary duty is to manage the data design of the firms CMDB through the operationalization of the CSDM.
Other duties include:
* Collecting, supporting the triaging of, tracking, and recommending solutions to new or changes to data requirements
* Publishing and presenting the CMDB design and data movement architecture reports
* Auditing the CMDB regularly to assess compliance with the approved design and hygiene compliance
* Identifying areas for improvement in current systems
* Coordinating with platform, archiving, data quality, and data security management teams
* Coordinating with other team members to reach project milestones and deadlines
* Work with business partners, functional/ support group partners and stakeholders for process management and assurance evaluation
* Work with stakeholders to prioritize work and drive milestones to timely execution
* Raise issues, risks and concerns timely and appropriately to stakeholders
* Document and track change control milestones and tasks for multiple projects and program
* Develop an effective network of relationships across technology divisions with their data management subject matter professionals
Essential skills and experience:
* Minimum of 5 years experience as a data architect or leading a team with a data architect
* Minimum of 2 years of experience with ServiceNow
* Experience working with Incident, Problem, Request, Change, Release, IT Asset, Knowledge, and Reporting functions as related to data management
* Active participation within and among teams and colleagues distributed globally
* Able to collaborate well with others, unafraid to provide and receive honest feedback
* Good problem-solving skills, in particular a methodical approach to deal with problems across distributed systems
* Adaptable to fast changing demands and environments
* Possesses strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills with a creative and flexible approach to problem solving
* Understands various technology system implementation methodologies (e.g., waterfall, agile etc.)
* Possesses strong time management skills
* Good verbal and written (PowerPoint, Excel, Project) communication skills
* Self-motivated and able to work autonomously with a strong sense of ownership and accountability for work
* Keen attention to detail
* Experience within financial industries, technology teams or consulting to financial industries, technology teams
* Program Management and/or Agile development experience or certification
* ServiceNow Admin and ServiceNow developer training and certification
* ITIL experience or certification
