Integrated Transport Planning (ITP) is our UK-focused transport planning and engineering design Advisory Group. We work with clients who are focused on accelerating the ongoing sustainable mobility and energy transitions that are central to reducing and mitigating the most harmful impacts of climate change. The Role

We’re looking for a Senior to Principal Data Analyst with experience of public transport data modelling and the knowledge and skills to extract and analyse large data sets to derive and present valuable insights to clients, including through the use of advanced GIS and other data analysis techniques. In this role, you’ll provide technical leadership and project management support across a range of projects and will be expected to develop and maintain strong relationships with clients in the sector.


What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will:



  • Have a strong consultancy background, with a proven track record of delivering successful projects for public sector clients in the UK, preferably related to public transport.
  • Possess robust technical skills in public transport data modelling, including relevant knowledge and skills to extract and analyse large data sets and present findings and insights, including through the use of advanced data mapping and visualisation techniques.
  • Have a sound understanding of transport policy and current issues in the UK, preferably with specialist knowledge and experience of evaluating bus operator data in different applications.
  • Demonstrate experience of project/task management, with experience of managing work to scope and budget.
  • Be capable of maintaining and growing client relationships, identifying and realising new commercial opportunities for generating project work from clients who share our interest in public transport.
  • Have a growing network of industry contacts and positive client referrals.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively, both in writing and verbally, using a range of formats to convey complex ideas.
  • Hold a relevant professional qualification.
  • Have experience of using data analysis tools such as Python and R, and Business Intelligence Tools such as PowerBI.
  • Contribute to the advancement of their profession and the broader industry by:

    • Participating in relevant professional associations, working groups, or industry forums.
    • Sharing expertise through speaking engagements, publications, or thought leadership.
    • Staying abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and best practices.
    • Supporting the development of industry standards or contributing to policy discussions.
    • Mentoring peers or early-career professionals.
