Senior Systems Engineer

Copello are working with a defence technology company who are looking for an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to work within the Systems team and be part of the wider Systems & Products business unit, to produce Digital GPS Anti-Jam Systems and Alternative Navigation Solutions for the military market.

You would be expected to provide Systems Engineering expertise across the product lifecycle, from requirements capture, Analysis, Design through to testing, qualification, and certification activities.


Duties:

  • To support to the System Design Authority and Systems Engineering Team leadership for customer support, production support and obsolescence maintenance of our established products.
  • Requiring the management of project requirements, generation of technical documentation. Systems Analysis and Design work and participation in technical design reviews.
  • Supporting bid proposal material and submission of bids in response to customer requests and supporting definition and design support for our next generation products.
  • Undertake development studies and investigation activities involving product performance and interfacing with various internal stakeholders.
  • To work in a highly technical environment, supporting the team as well as working autonomously, laboratory work will be involved for product testing.
  • Taking on complex challenges and producing a solution that follows company process in a timely manner is an essential part of the role.


Essential

  • Experience across the systems engineering lifecycle from requirements through to project completion.
  • Experience with generation of technical documentation at all levels.
  • Ability to work autonomously, with limited oversight from Team Leaders and Management.
  • Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics) or similar industry certification.


Desirable

  • Knowledge of GNSS systems and receiver characteristics
  • Experience with the IBM Rational DOORS toolset
  • Experience with RF (including Antennas) and Digital Hardware design and test
  • Algorithm development incorporating Modelling experience in MATLAB/Simulink
  • Experience with SysMl or UML in a Systems Engineering environment
  • Experience with configuration management systems
