This includes several key strategic digital priorities, such as real-time transactional information and a single customer account, enabling customers to access all their data and undertake all their interactions with HMRC in one place.We work with leading technologies such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), SAP, SAS, Pega, Azure, and Microsoft Power Platform to develop and implement solution designs.You will architect IT solutions that work across all of HMRC's tax and benefits, including Self-Assessment, VAT, Corporation Tax, and Counter-Fraud, as well as designing systems that support the UK’s international trade.As a Solutions Architect in the Chief Digital & Information Office (CDIO), you will help define HMRC's technology direction and create impactful IT solution designs.This role requires skills and determination to meet the challenges we face.Responsibilities We are looking for individuals who:Have a fascination with evolving technology and want to create IT solution designs.Enjoy building technology projects that deliver results.Have an interest in machine learning and artificial intelligence technologies.Can solve real-world business problems through creative IT solutions.Can work collaboratively as part of a larger team.If you can answer yes to any of these questions, these roles may be just what you have been looking for.Senior Solution Architects in HMRC To undertake this role, you can:Architect IT solutions that power the UK.Design IT solutions that prioritize user experience, security, and scalability.Utilize your experience with leading technologies (Azure, AWS, Python, etc.) to design solutions.Quickly learn new technologies and apply that knowledge.Collaboratively solve business problems with colleagues.Get hands-on with new technologies to test their potential.Create POCs, Prototypes, Technical and Functional spikes to bring ideas to life.Take an agile approach to problem-solving from design to delivery.Understand business needs and develop trusted relationships within project teams.Drive change at pace while managing architectural risks.We believe in supporting the personal development of our staff and offer extensive tailored training and development opportunities.Person Specification Your responsibilities will include:Working with a team of solution architects to set direction and deliver results.Producing technical IT Solution Designs that align with HMRC IT Strategy.Authoring costed design documentation and collaborating with stakeholders.Working with Delivery Teams to ensure Solution Design is implemented.This role may require travel and overnight stays.Essential Criteria The applicants need to demonstrate the following essential criteria:Experience leading and developing solutions for digital services.Ability to quickly learn new technologies and architecture concepts.Collaborative problem-solving skills.Track record of communicating and influencing stakeholders.Ability to work at pace and manage architectural risks.Technical Skills This is the range of skills we use in HMRC. We do not expect you to have all of these skills:Architecting IT applications, including Cloud, IaaS, SaaS, and PaaS.Knowledge of various technology stacks and balanced technology selection.Understanding of security in solution designs.Experience in decommissioning legacy systems.Application integration and awareness of programming techniques.Awareness of cost modeling and managing technical debt.Experience with Big Data, Analytics, machine learning, and AI.Desirable CriteriaStrong inter-personal skills for handling diverse stakeholders.Experience in large scale IT Change/Transformation programmes.Possess or willing to work towards TOGAF, BCS, or CITP qualifications.Able to translate viewpoints between technical teams and business stakeholders.#J-18808-Ljbffr
