Nuggit is a European-based YouTube creator acceleration platform that empowers YouTube creators—dynamic entrepreneurs shaping the attention economy. Our mission is to provide these creators with the investment, data insights, and business resources they need to grow their content production businesses and excel in today’s digital world.
Data and Analytics at Nuggit:
Data plays a crucial role in guiding Nuggit’s investment decisions and managing risk. Our analytics also provide insights that help us evaluate creator growth potential and performance, whilst separately allowing us to support creators with informed content strategies. Through a strong data-driven approach, we enable creators to make impactful, data-informed decisions that support sustained growth.
About the Role:
We’re in an exciting early-stage growth phase, facing unique challenges as we build and scale our platform. We’re looking for a resourceful and adaptable engineer with 3-5 years of experience and a strong foundation in computer science, data science, and mathematics. The role straddles analytics, platform, architecture and data engineering and is ideal for a versatile individual eager to take a hands-on role with the autonomy to drive projects and make significant contributions as we develop our capabilities from the ground up.
This position offers the chance to solve novel problems, help shape core technologies, and play a key role in setting up processes and systems that will support our rapid scaling. The right candidate will bring technical expertise, innovative problem-solving, and the agility needed to thrive in a build phase, working alongside a collaborative team to deliver impactful solutions.
This position is for the lead full-time engineer in our team at Nuggit. While you will take ownership of the technology and product development internally, you’ll have access to dedicated support from senior resources outside the business. These highly experienced professionals, who have designed and built our existing infrastructure and platform, will provide guidance and expertise as needed, ensuring you have a strong foundation to build upon as you lead our tech efforts. The role will also be supported with junior resources.
Key Responsibilities:
· End-to-End Development: ownership of the entire lifecycle of projects, from initial concept and design to deployment and ongoing optimisation.
· Data Engineering, Processing, and Presentation: Oversee data ingestion, transformation, and storage, ensuring high-quality, accessible data. Create data visualisations that clearly communicate insights, supporting data-driven decision-making and content performance metrics.
· Systems Integration: Integrate data solutions with product features and payments infrastructure to support seamless operations, robust analytics, and a cohesive user experience.
· Rapid Prototyping and Scaling: Develop and iterate on prototypes and MVPs to test and validate models, with a practical, hands-on approach to create scalable, high-quality solutions.
· System Optimisation: Identify and implement improvements to data workflows, models, and deployment pipelines, with an eye toward scalability and efficiency.
· Collaborative Problem Solving: Work with senior engineers to share knowledge and align on best practices while independently driving your projects forward.
Qualifications:
· Education: BSc, MSc or PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.
· Experience: 3-5 years in a FinTech, data science, or data engineering role with a strong focus on independent project ownership and end-to-end solution development. Desirable for experience in a start-up environment.
· Technical Skills:
o Advanced skills in Python, Django or similar programming languages, with a strong command of data processing and machine learning libraries.
o Proficiency in data visualisation tools (e.g. Matplotlib, Plotly, Tableau) for effective data presentation.
o Familiarity with cloud services (preferably Google Cloud) and an ability to leverage available resources creatively.
o Systems integration for payment and product infrastructure.
Personal Attributes:
- Resourceful and Adaptable: Skilled at navigating constraints to deliver innovative, effective solutions.
- Self-Driven and Accountable: Takes ownership of projects from start to finish with minimal oversight.
- Analytical and Flexible: Comfortable managing competing priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
