About The Role


Our client is a large, complex, global organisation operating within the insurance and financial risk sector. The business brings together specialist expertise, data and insight to support effective risk management and long-term market sustainability.

They are now seeking a Market Performance Data & MI Senior Analyst to support a senior leadership function responsible for performance oversight and strategic direction. The role will focus on delivering high-quality analytics and management information, providing insight into performance trends across portfolios, business units and product lines.


This is a high-impact position working closely with senior stakeholders, focused on enabling informed decision-making through robust data, insight and reporting.


Key responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation of qualitative and quantitative management information for senior internal and external stakeholders, ensuring outputs are accurate, insightful and aligned to strategic objectives
  • Take ownership of data manipulation, analysis and insight generation, producing clear recommendations to support effective decision-making
  • Design and deliver high-impact MI and analytics for senior leadership, interpreting performance trends, risks and opportunities
  • Own the end-to-end MI lifecycle, including data extraction, analysis, visualisation and reporting, ensuring outputs are timely, relevant and decision-focused
  • Produce and collate MI for senior leadership forums, working closely with functional leads to ensure reporting accurately reflects their areas of responsibility
  • Deliver monthly and quarterly reporting packs at portfolio, business unit and product level, working with analytics colleagues to identify performance drivers and recommend actions or objectives
  • Support internal and external communications by providing data-driven insights, analysis and visual materials for presentations, reporting, regulatory responses and leadership communications
  • Maintain a central library of MI and presentation materials to ensure consistency, quality and reusability
  • Drive continuous improvement across reporting, dashboards, processes and analytical tools to improve efficiency and insight quality
  • Extract and analyse data from core systems and business intelligence platforms to support performance monitoring and strategic reporting



Skills, knowledge and experience

  • Strong understanding of the insurance and reinsurance market and its operating dynamics
  • Sound knowledge of insurance P&L accounting practices, key performance drivers and financial metrics
  • Solid understanding of data quality principles, data governance frameworks and MI best practice
  • Experience of portfolio management concepts and how performance is managed against business plans
  • Technical underwriting knowledge with the ability to interpret performance at product and portfolio level
  • Proven experience producing high-quality management information and reporting packs for a range of stakeholder audiences
  • Demonstrable experience analysing performance data at market, portfolio, product or business unit level
  • Clear track record of supporting strategic decision-making through robust data analysis and insight
  • Evidence of contributing to continuous improvement in reporting, analytics, processes and ways of working
  • Strong collaborative skills, with experience working across teams to deliver high-quality outputs under deadline
  • Consistent track record of operating to high professional standards with strong attention to detail
  • High level of data literacy, including the storage, analysis, interpretation and presentation of data, with hands-on experience of business intelligence and reporting tools (e.g. enterprise reporting platforms and dashboards)
