Salary: £33,120 - £36,432 plus Benefits

Closing Date: Sunday 29th March 2026

We believe that our strength is not just in our steel but the diversity of our workforce. Our people make the difference.

Are you the kind of person who spots patterns others miss?

Do you enjoy understanding how data underpins everything from production planning to customer onboarding?

If you’re someone who takes pride in accuracy, loves problem‑solving and wants to work where your expertise genuinely keeps the wheels turning, this could be the perfect role for you.

We’re looking for a Senior Data Analyst (Master Data) to help us protect the integrity of our SAP and Informatica systems – ensuring our supply chain, commercial functions and operational processes run smoothly every single day. You’ll act as a subject matter expert, supporting teams across the business and making sure that data is structured, reliable, and ready to support critical workflows.

What you will do

Master data is the backbone of our operations. When it’s wrong, everything feels it, be it in production, logistics, finance, customer service, or reporting. When it’s right, everything flows. This is a role where your expertise directly prevents disruption and keeps our systems and teams performing at their best.

As a Senior Master Data Analyst, you’ll work across SAP, Informatica and local planning datasets to maintain and enhance the master data that keeps our operations moving. You’ll troubleshoot issues, support change projects, and ensure that the information feeding our production, logistics, pricing and ordering systems is always accurate and compliant with business rules.

On a typical day, you might:

  • Investigate and resolve master data quality issues, digging into root causes and preventing repeat problems
  • Partner with supply chain, commercial, logistics and planning teams to understand their master data needs
  • Manage workflow updates in Informatica, ensuring smooth downstream integration
  • Support customer master data creation, material creation and master data governance
  • Provide guidance to offshore colleagues and review their outputs
  • Help prepare and test changes for system upgrades and improvements from a master data perspective

What you will need

You’ll be someone with a real attention to detail, comfortable navigating complex systems and translating business needs into master data requirements. You’ll have strong communication skills, enjoy collaborating with both technical and non‑technical colleagues, and be confident advising others on data structures.

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

  • Experience working with SAP master data (materials, customers, routes, output conditions)
  • Familiarity with Informatica workflows and data rules
  • Strong analytical ability and a structured approach to problem‑solving
  • A good understanding of supply chain
  • Advanced Excel or similar data‑handling skills

You don’t need to manage people in this role, but you will guide and review work from offshore administrators so clarity, accuracy and strong communication matter.

How Many Machine Learning Tools Do You Need to Know to Get a Machine Learning Job?

Machine learning is one of the most exciting and rapidly growing areas of tech. But for job seekers it can also feel like a maze of tools, frameworks and platforms. One job advert wants TensorFlow and Keras. Another mentions PyTorch, scikit-learn and Spark. A third lists Mlflow, Docker, Kubernetes and more. With so many names out there, it’s easy to fall into the trap of thinking you must learn everything just to be competitive. Here’s the honest truth most machine learning hiring managers won’t say out loud: 👉 They don’t hire you because you know every tool. They hire you because you can solve real problems with the tools you know. Tools are important — no doubt — but context, judgement and outcomes matter far more. So how many machine learning tools do you actually need to know to get a job? For most job seekers, the real number is far smaller than you think — and more logically grouped. This guide breaks down exactly what employers expect, which tools are core, which are role-specific, and how to structure your learning for real career results.

What Hiring Managers Look for First in Machine Learning Job Applications (UK Guide)

Whether you’re applying for machine learning engineer, applied scientist, research scientist, ML Ops or data scientist roles, hiring managers scan applications quickly — often making decisions before they’ve read beyond the top third of your CV. In the competitive UK market, it’s not enough to list skills. You must send clear signals of relevance, delivery, impact, reasoning and readiness for production — and do it within the first few lines of your CV or portfolio. This guide walks you through exactly what hiring managers look for first in machine learning applications, how they evaluate CVs and portfolios, and what you can do to improve your chances of getting shortlisted at every stage — from your CV and LinkedIn profile to your cover letter and project portfolio.
