What You'll Be Doing

Reporting to the Head of Legal, you will be a part of a UK based legal and governance team supporting Future's businesses across the globe. This will have a wide remit, including a mix of transactional and advisory work across our digital, print, video, advertising, social, and events channels. You will also support our General Counsel and Company Secretary with company secretarial and corporate governance matters.


Essential Experience that will put you ahead of the curve

  • You are qualified in England and Wales (or you are qualified in another common law jurisdiction and have significant post qualification experience in a company based in the UK or US).
  • You are comfortable in autonomously dealing with a wide variety of commercial work.
  • You have experience advising FCA regulated businesses. An understanding of the retail insurance market would be beneficial. You will have a working knowledge of e-commerce and consumer protection laws.
  • You enjoy overseeing the work of junior members of your team. You take an interest in the development of others.

Beneficial Experience

  • You have experience providing corporate and company secretarial support to a UK listed company.
  • You have either experience advising media or advertising businesses.
  • You have a working knowledge of any or all of the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act, the Online Safety Act, the FCA's Consumer Duty, and developments in AI regulation.
  • Experience of dealing with regulatory matters under any or all of the ASA/FTC, CMA, ICO, or Ofcom regimes.
  • Experience of managing disputes, including customer complaints. You understand the role of the FOS.

The expected range for this role is £50,000 - £80,000. This is a Hybrid role from our Bath, Cardiff or London Office, working three days from the office, two from home.
