Due to expansion, an opportunity has become available for a Senior Data Scientist to join our data group as the first dedicated data scientist. In this role, you will collaborate closely with data engineers, analytics engineers, product managers, and the head of data to lead the design and implementation of data-driven solutions. Your primary focus will be building out personalization and recommendation models aimed at increasing user engagement within the Reward Gateway platform.
This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of data science at Reward Gateway, driving high-impact projects from concept to deployment. You will have the autonomy to select the most appropriate tools and methodologies, leveraging our existing AWS infrastructure while proposing new solutions to solve complex challenges. The role will also involve close collaboration with DevOps and other engineering teams to ensure seamless deployment and integration of model results across our platform.
Some of Your Responsibilities & Core Duties will be:
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of personalization and recommendation models to enhance user engagement across the Reward Gateway platform.
- Work closely with the Head of Data, and Product Managers, to scope new data initiatives and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Mentor and guide other team members in data science methodologies and best practices, fostering a collaborative environment
- Collaborate with data engineers and analytics engineers to build scalable, robust data pipelines and ensure seamless integration of machine learning models.
- Work with DevOps teams to deploy machine learning solutions efficiently and reliably, ensuring scalability and performance.
- Collaborate with other engineering teams to integrate model results and insights across the Reward Gateway platform, optimizing user experience and engagement.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices to recommend new tools and technologies, particularly within AWS services
The Experience and Key Skills you will have:
- Proven experience designing and implementing data science solutions, particularly in personalization and recommendation systems.
- Strong knowledge of machine learning, statistical modeling, and data mining techniques.
- Experience working with AWS services such as Redshift, Glue, Lambda, EventBridge, and familiarity with tools like SageMaker and AWS Personalize.
- Experience working with DevOps teams to deploy machine learning models and ensure reliability, scalability, and performance in production environments.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, DevOps, product managers, and other engineering teams, to drive projects from concept to completion.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
