Senior Data Scientist - Marketing Focus

Are you a highly skilled Data Scientist with a passion for marketing and a knack for driving impact across diverse business lines? We're partnering with a leading enterprise operating across five distinct sectors, including Cruise, Travel, Insurance, Money, and Publishing, to find a pivotalSenior Data Scientistfor their Group-level Marketing team.

This is an exceptional opportunity to join a company that is heavily invested in its data capabilities. You'll be part of a small, dynamic team at the forefront of leveraging Machine Learning and AI to inform strategic marketing decisions across all five businesses. The organisation made its first Data Science hire years ago and has since built a robust data foundation, ensuring you'll hit the ground running with excellent resources.

What You'll Bring

  • Proven experience in a Marketing Data Science role is a MUST HAVE. This is non-negotiable.
  • Expert-level SQL and Python skills are essential.
  • Hands-on experience with Snowflake is a critical requirement.
  • Proficiency in Azure DevOps for code versioning (or transferable experience with other code versioning tools).
  • Solid Cloud experience with any of the major providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Experience working with large-scale and complex datasets, demonstrating significant depth in your analytical approach.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and articulately to non-technical stakeholders. You'll work closely with a supportive Head of Data Science who will help bridge the gap with business teams.
  • Experience in an Agile environment, specifically with 2-week sprints.
  • A collaborative mindset, thriving in a close-knit data function that works seamlessly with engineering and architecture teams.

The Role & Environment

You'll be a key player in a small, impactful team, directly contributing to marketing strategies across all five business areas. This is a role where your expertise in ML and AI will be crucial in unlocking new insights and driving growth.

The team operates in a hybrid model, offering flexibility. You'll work from their Kings Cross office approximately once a week (sometimes once a fortnight), with occasional travel (at least once a quarter) to their Folkestone office. Your Head of Data Science is flexible as long as the work gets done!

Compensation

  • £70,000 base salary
  • 5% bonus based on individual and company performance.

Interview Process

  • Stage 1: Technical task in Python and SQL. Be prepared to discuss your methodology in detail.
  • Stage 2: Presentation to the Head of Data Science and a Senior Data Scientist.
  • Stage 3: Meeting with the Director of Data Analytics and a Product Manager.
