Senior Data Scientist
Cambridge (Hybrid – 2 days in office)
Must be based in the UK
Founded 5 years ago this Cambridge based biotech are developing revolutionary genomic technologies that improve the lives of cancer patients through early diagnosis. After securing a substantial amount of funding they are continuing to grow their Data Science team.
We are looking for an experienced Data Scientist, with a passion for maths and statistics and their application to biological data sets. You’ll be working on the design, development and implementation of novel statistical methods for analysis and reporting of genomic and clinical datasets.
This position will be working collaboratively with product development, wet lab scientists and operations teams to develop new technologies for the company. So, you will need to be able to take complex scientific concepts and translate them into a language that non-technical audiences can understand.
Experience needed:
- PhD in Maths or Statistics or Computational Biology
- Plus either post-doctoral experience or Industry experience
- Experience working with NGS data
- You must have experience developing novel statistical methods from scratch
- Python Proficiency
- Ability to work independently
- Good communication skills (must be able to translate complex scientific concepts to non-technical audiences)
