Role Summary

We’re looking for a Senior Data Scientist with strong python development background or AI/ Python Engineer who will design and build integrated AI solutions. You will be responsible primarily for delivering AI solutions we are looking to embed across the business, initially building solutions that assist our verification teams in extracting, reasoning over and validating documents.

You’ll additionally help drive initiatives focused on document reasoning for verification over ESG and sustainability documents, helping our customers evidence compliance with ever‑evolving standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Translate high‑level business problems into rapid MVPs, then production‑ready services.

- Develop, package and maintain shared Python libraries; ensuring robust and clean architecture, testing and CI/CD standards.

- Design and deploy LLM‑based extraction, RAG and agentic workflows over large document collections, and drive value through integration of latest AI tech (agentic workflows etc.)

- ️ Communicate clearly with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

Required Skills & Experience

- **Expert‑level Python developer** — idiomatic, test‑driven coding, structuring packages, collaborating in shared mono‑repos and deploying containerised FastAPI micro‑services on Kubernetes (AKS preferred).

- Strong general grounding in **software‑engineering best practices**: CI/CD, automated testing, code reviews, observability and performance profiling.

- ️ Experience using multi‑modal AI (document layout, vision‑language models, building agents).

- Experience building quick prototypes (e.g. Streamlit, Dash) to validate ideas rapidly.

- MLOps tooling (e.g. MLflow) and model monitoring experience.

- Strong communication skills and action‑oriented.

Nice to Have

- ️ Hands‑on with Azure services (Storage, Container Registry, OpenAI Services).

- Demonstrated experience building extraction/ reasoning systems over documents.

- French or Spanish language skills are a bonus.

What We Offer

- Competitive salary and remote‑first working culture.

- ️ Team & company offsites across Europe.

- Wellness fund / Private Medical Insurance*.

- Pension & Life Assurance (3× salary).

- 25 days annual leave + 8 UK public holidays.

- Holiday purchase scheme (up to 5 additional days).

- 1 paid & 1 unpaid volunteering day per year.

- Continuous professional development budget and access to leading AI tooling.

Pre-Employment Checks for Machine Learning Jobs: DBS, References & Right-to-Work and more Explained

Pre-employment screening in machine learning reflects the discipline's unique position at the intersection of artificial intelligence research, algorithmic decision-making, and transformative business automation. Machine learning professionals often have privileged access to proprietary datasets, cutting-edge algorithms, and strategic AI systems that form the foundation of organizational competitive advantage and automated decision-making capabilities. The machine learning industry operates within complex regulatory frameworks spanning AI governance directives, algorithmic accountability requirements, and emerging ML ethics regulations. Machine learning specialists must demonstrate not only technical competence in model development and deployment but also deep understanding of algorithmic fairness, AI safety principles, and the societal implications of automated decision-making at scale. Modern machine learning roles frequently involve developing systems that impact hiring decisions, financial services, healthcare diagnostics, and autonomous operations across multiple regulatory jurisdictions and ethical frameworks simultaneously. The combination of algorithmic influence, predictive capabilities, and automated decision-making authority makes thorough candidate verification essential for maintaining compliance, fairness, and public trust in AI-powered systems.
