Senior Data Engineer - Investments.

A global hedge fund is recruiting a Senior Data Engineer. To work on the investments team managing the data architecture which drives, source, enrich, and store data, own the entire data pipeline starting with designing the interfaces and APIs for the next level of machine learning and AI, design systems that solve the most critical problems and answer the most challenging questions in finance. Lead a team of three to redesign the platform and develop a next-generation platform.

Responsibilities

• The architecture of designing interfaces and APIS and redesign the data and ETL pipelines.
• Develop solutions that enable investment professionals to extract insights from data efficiently.
• Transformations (Spark, SQL, Kafka, Python and interface (API, schema design, events)
• Partner with the industry’s top investment professionals, quantitative researchers, and data scientists to design, develop, and deploy machine learning solutions about financial markets
• Build tools and automation capabilities for data pipelines that improve the efficiency, quality, and resiliency of the data platform
• Drive the evolution of data strategy by challenging the status quo and identifying opportunities to enhance our platform.

YOUR SKILLS & TALENTS:

• Passion for working with data to accurately model and analyze complex systems.
• Proficiency with a programming language Python preferred or Java or C++
• Proficiency with RDBMS, NoSQL, distributed computing platforms such as Spark, Dask, or Hadoop.
• Experience with any of the following systems: Apache Airflow, AWS/GCE/Azure, Jupyter, Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes, or Snowflake.
• Bachelor’s, Masters or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
