Senior Data Engineer - GIS

We're Hiring! I have a fantastic opportunity for two, new Data Engineers to join our AI & Data capability at VMO2!

The successful candidates will help shape the future of data-driven innovation. Our AI & Data team is driving growth by unlocking the power of mobile network data (MND or equivalent experience) to build data monetisation opportunities. As a Data Engineer, you'll be at the heart of building scalable, production-grade data platforms and pipelines that deliver real-world impact.

Your Mission:

Build the Data Engine: Design and optimise our MND data platform for performance, cost, and flexibility. Enhance Location Intelligence: Refine algorithms that infer user location and behavioural patterns. Be responsible for the Pipeline: Collaborate with engineers and product teams to build resilient, scalable data pipelines. Deliver Actionable Insights: Ensure outputs align with clients needs and deliver real customer value. Support and Improve: Solve technical challenges, improve methodologies, and drive continuous innovation.

The must haves

In order to be considered, you must have the following experience;

Strong Python & SQL knowledge with a deep understanding of data models such as databases and data lakes Confidence working with geospatial data, GIS tools, and real-time data streams and proficiency with geospatial libraries (e.g., GeoPandas, QGIS, PostGIS). Experience with Databricks, Spark, and Azure Git, and CI/CD skills Hands-on experience in developing, testing, and deploying complex data models and methodologies

The other stuff we are looking for

We'd also love you to bring;

Delivery focused, a track record of building and delivering Data Products for Clients Azure is preferred, but strong knowledge of AWS or GCP is good. An approach for actively finding opportunities and providing solutions for them through problem-solving, teamwork, and customer impact being fundamental to everything we do.
