Senior Data Engineer – 6-Month Contract | London | Insurance Sector

We're exclusively recruiting for aSenior Data Engineerto join a leading organisation within theProperty & Casualty Insurancesector.

📍Location: London (Hybrid)

⏳Contract: 6 months (potential extension)

💼Work Type: Contract (Inside IR35/Outside – subject to discussion)

You’ll be embedded within theActuarial team, building scalable data platforms and pipelines to support pricing analysis. You’ll work closely with stakeholders, lead third-party collaborations, and play a critical role in optimising and managing robust data infrastructure.

🔧 Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with pricing actuaries and analysts to gather technical and business requirements.
• Architect a scalable, secure data platform and design ETL pipelines.
• Integrate internal and third-party data sources using tools likeSQL Server,Databricks,Azure, andAPIs.
• Lead third-party engineering teams to deliver on time and at high quality.
• Support existing SQL-based systems and investigate/resolve data anomalies.
• Continuously optimise platform performance and recommend architectural improvements.

✅ You’ll Need:

• Proven experience as aData Engineer(ideally in the insurance or financial sector).
• Expertise inSQL Server,ETL frameworks, anddata pipeline development.
• Solid knowledge ofPython,Azure,AWS, and tools likeDatabricks,Glue,S3, etc.
• Ability to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and data quality issues.
• Comfortable translating actuarial or analytical needs into scalable data solutions.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
