What You'll Do
As a Senior Data Engineer at NBI Games, you will be a key player in the development and maintenance of our data platform. This role is critical to ensure that gameplay data, telemetry, and analytics pipelines are reliable, scalable, and robust. You’ll work cross-functionally with analysts, data scientists, and game teams to support infrastructure that powers insights for game tuning, live ops, and player behavior understanding.
Key Responsibilities
Design, implement, and optimize scalable data pipelines and infrastructure
Develop batch and real-time data processing systems for analytics and telemetry
Create software and tooling necessary to build automated deployment pipelines
Support containerization and orchestration of data services using Docker and Kubernetes
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data needs and define engineering solutions
Develop and enforce data governance, quality, and security standards
Work with external teams and contractors to deliver reliable, production-grade systems
Drive innovation in tools and processes across the data engineering team
Mentor junior engineers and set a high bar for coding and architecture standards
Contribute to architectural decisions that align with long-term platform growth
What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Computer Science or related field
5+ years of experience in data engineering with a focus on high-scale systems (video game studio experience strongly )
Deep proficiency in Python and experience with container systems (Docker, Kubernetes)
Proven experience with AWS services (Lambda, S3, EMR, DynamoDB)
Hands-on experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Snowflake, and Vertica
Familiarity with CI/CD, DevOps practices, and automated testing frameworks
Ability to work in agile, fast-paced environments and lead technical projects
Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
A gamer mindset: curious, creative, and passionate about game development
Demonstrate professional behavior and maintain a strong work ethic
Work collaboratively across departments and with external partners when needed
Exhibit flexibility and adaptability to evolving project and team needs
Bonus Points
Experience mentoring junior engineers or leading project initiatives
Ability to translate business requirements into data architecture
Familiarity with agile methodologies and backlog grooming for data teams
Comfort working across product, analytics, and engineering teams
