Location: London Victoria, Hybrid

Reports to: Engineering Manager

Role purpose

You will be instrumental in designing and building scalable data infrastructure, pipelines, and tooling to support advanced analytics, real-time data applications, and regulatory compliance.

What will you be doing?

Responsibilities



    • Design, build, and maintain robust, scalable, and secure data pipelines and ETL processes from various structured and unstructured data sources
    • Leverage data mining techniques to extract meaningful insights from large-scale datasets, including customer transactions, behavioural data, and third-party data providers
    • Develop and optimise data models for analytics and business intelligence applications
    • Integrate and manage open banking APIs and datasets (e.g. PSD2, Open Banking UK, CDR Australia), ensuring compliance with regulatory standards
    • Implement and enforce data governance, privacy, and security standards
    • Evaluate new data technologies and tools to support continuous improvement and innovation in data engineering practices

Skills and experience

To help you do all this, you will need:



    • 8+ years of experience in data engineering, with a strong focus on data mining and big data processing
    • Strong knowledge of open banking frameworks, protocols, and APIs (e.g. Open Banking UK, PSD2)
    • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Scala, or Java
    • Experience with cloud data platforms such as GCP (BigQuery, Dataflow) or Azure (Data Factory, Synapse)
    • Expert in SQL, MongoDB and distributed data systems such as Spark, Databricks or Kafka
    • Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and tools (e.g. Snowflake)
    • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
    • Strong understanding of data privacy, data sharing regulations (GDPR, CCPA), and API security
    • Experience in C#
    • Good communication and stakeholder management skills
