Then Just Eat Takeaway.com might be the place for you. We’re a leading global online delivery platform, and our vision is to empower everyday convenience. Whether it’s a Friday-night feast, a post-gym poke bowl, or grabbing some groceries, our tech platform connects tens of millions of customers with hundreds of thousands of restaurant, grocery and convenience partners across the globe.

About This Role

At Just Eat Takeaway.com (JET), we're on a mission to be the world's leading food delivery marketplace. Our Global Fraud Analytics team is at the heart of this mission, working tirelessly to create a safe and trustworthy environment for our customers, restaurant partners, and couriers. We are a data-driven, innovative team dedicated to protecting our platform from ever-evolving threats. We are looking for a highly analytical and experienced Senior Data Analyst - Fraud Analytics to join our dynamic team in London. In this critical role, you will be responsible for identifying, and mitigating fraudulent activity across our platform. You will dive deep into complex datasets to uncover fraud patterns, develop preventative strategies, and protect our business from financial and reputational damage. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a tangible impact, mentor junior team members, and help shape the future of fraud prevention at a global scale.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively analyse large, complex datasets using SQL to identify emerging fraud trends and patterns across various domains, including refund abuse, payment fraud, chargebacks, and voucher abuse.
  • Design, implement, and monitor the effectiveness of fraud prevention rules and strategies to minimise losses while ensuring a positive customer experience.
  • Build and maintain insightful dashboards and reports using Looker and Tableau to track key fraud metrics and communicate performance to the wider business.
  • Translate complex analytical findings into clear, concise, and actionable recommendations for non-technical senior stakeholders, including Product, Operations, and Finance teams.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams within an Agile environment, using Jira to manage workloads, prioritize tasks, and run sprints for fraud-related projects.
  • Act as a subject matter expert, providing guidance and support to junior analysts within the team.

What will you bring to the team?

  • Proven experience in an analytics role, preferably in fintech, e-commerce, or marketplace (financial services/payment processing experience a plus).
  • Deep understanding of common fraud typologies (refund abuse, payment fraud, chargebacks, promo abuse).
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL (BigQuery experience a plus) and strong database acumen, including GitHub.
  • Advanced data visualization skills using tools like Looker and Tableau.
  • Strong communication ability to translate complex data into clear, compelling narratives for all audiences.
  • Comfortable presenting findings to influence senior and non-technical decision-makers.
  • Agile Mindset: Familiarity with Agile methodologies; practical experience with Jira and working within a sprint environment.
  • Sharp analytical mind with a passion for complex problem-solving and a keen eye for detail.
  • Cultural Awareness: Ability to achieve results in diverse, multi-market/multi-country environments.
  • Nice-to-Haves: Experience in specialized fraud roles, working knowledge of fraud detection tools (rules/ML scores), experience with automations (e.g., Google Apps Script), and background in food/grocery e-commerce.

Where to Advertise Machine Learning Jobs in the UK (2026 Guide)

Where to advertise machine learning jobs UK in 2026: the specialist boards and communities that reach ML, MLOps and deep learning engineering talent. The candidate pool is small, highly specialised and in demand across AI labs, financial services, healthcare, autonomous systems and consumer technology simultaneously. Machine learning engineers and researchers move between roles through professional networks, conference communities and specialist platforms — not general job boards where ML roles compete with unrelated software engineering positions for the same audience. This guide, published by MachineLearningJobs.co.uk, covers where to advertise machine learning roles in the UK in 2026, how the main platforms compare, what employers should expect to pay, and what the data says about hiring across different role types.
