Perch Group is recruiting for a Senior Data Analyst.

What are we looking for?

We are seeking a proactive and experienced individual to join our growing Analytics function. The successful candidate will be responsible for leveraging external data effectively in collections strategies across our group companies and will have a large scope for impact within a data‑driven business.


They will be equally comfortable designing and building data pipelines, assessing ROI of multiple suppliers, and optimising commercial models. They will ensure control and oversight of the data we ingest and use, proactively identify opportunities, and work cross‑functionally to enhance how we use data.


Day‑to‑day responsibilities

  • Analysis and Insight: Lead your own and the team’s analysis into the effectiveness of current external data. Identify and effectively communicate opportunities to improve.
  • Data Engineering: Collaborate with our Data and MI Teams to automate and scale mature processes, and quickly build new pipelines for trials.
  • Collections Strategy: Propose customer‑centric and cost‑effective strategies, using experience and deep data insight, and work cross‑functionally to refine, gain buy‑in and deploy these strategies.
  • Scoring and segmentation: Build customer segmentation, leverage and influence the output of our Decision Science team. Optimise for commercial and customer outcomes and build testing frameworks.
  • MI and Reporting: Use SQL and Power BI to build reports, guide strategic decision making, and work with stakeholders to refine requirements and leverage insight.
  • Team Development: Actively develop yourself and team members by sharing experience and cross‑skilling across technologies, processes and business areas.
  • Change Management: Support the Head of Analytics in prioritising and planning large change work, building relationships with technical and delivery teams.
  • Governance: Prepare and deliver input into monthly governance meetings around strategy performance, sharing the impact of your work up to Executive level.
  • Client Facing: Support the Head of Analytics in communicating our analytics proposition and strategy performance to new and existing clients.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role within debt purchase, recovery, or financial services.
  • Strong data analysis and reporting skills (SQL + visualising tool, e.g. Power BI, Looker).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to distil complex concepts into clear recommendations and influence action at all levels.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining quality.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to identify and resolve issues swiftly and professionally, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • Collaboration skills with internal stakeholders, including operations, legal, and compliance teams.
  • Understanding of operational processes in a financial services environment.
  • Experience in the debt purchase and recovery sector with collections strategy through quantitative insight (desirable).
  • Leading workstreams that touch multiple stakeholders and managing those relationships (desirable).

Application Timeline

  • First stage video call with the internal talent acquisition team (15 minutes).
  • Introductory call with the hiring manager over Teams (15‑30 minutes).
  • Face‑to‑face or video call with the hiring manager (45‑60 minutes).

Typical timeline: 2‑3 weeks. This role will close once we have enough applications for the next stages, so please submit as soon as possible.


Compensation

£50,000 – £60,000 DOE + up to 20% of annual salary as a bonus.


Benefits

Hybrid role between Blackpool and Manchester Spinningfields office. 37.5 hours per week, flexible hybrid working between 8 am – 6 pm, Monday‑Friday.
