Role:Senior Data Analyst

Client:Hexagon EMEA

Location and dedication:UK based would be best. Ideally, commutable to Cobham, but not essential. Someone open to potentially starting later (~10am) and working to 6-7pm would be ideal, but we are flexible on hours for the right person.




Overview
Will be responsible for supporting the lead Marketing Analytics manager in day-to-day tasks. The ideal candidate has a strong Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, and SQL background. Experience with visualization tools, such as PowerBI, is a plus. In addition to technical skills, this candidate needs prioritize projects & be comfortable communicating with various stakeholders.


Key Skills with 1-10 rating on how strong we expect you to be versed in the following tech.

  • SQL, in GBQ (Google Big Query) - 8
  • GA4 - 7
  • Google Tag Manager (GTM) - 8
  • PowerBI - 4
  • Powerpoint - 5



Responsibilities

  • Google Tag Manager: ensure all tags are firing correctly & GDPR compliant. Implement new tags and enhance existing ones. Experience with custom javascript preferred
  • Use SQL to create new tables, as well as clean & enhance existing tables. Google Big Query experience preferred
  • Build, maintain, and optimize data pipelines that bring together various data sources
  • Monitor latest trends, ensuring we are up to date with industry wide changes such as Google updates
  • Assist in dashboard creation and enhancements (PowerBI)
  • Assist in PowerPoints, formatting data from the dashboards into visually appealing slides




  • Hard skills:DAX (for PowerBI), SQL (for GBQ), data modelling, data wrangling, data cleaning, custom Javascript variables (for GTM), GTM experience, GA4, understanding of ETL pipelines and working knowledge of data warehousing, campaign performance tracking, familiarity with paid media platforms (Google Ads, LinkedIn Ads, Meta Ads, 6sense, Demandbase) and their reporting APIs, server side tagging, CDP. Experience of Tealium IQ would also be of value.

  • Soft skills:reliability, Powerpoint, meeting scheduling (Outlook and Teams), stakeholder management, communication, storytelling with data, be proactive in identifying trends, opportunities, and anomalies in data



Nice to have:We're ultimately looking for a capable 'doer' who can fill an execution gap in the short term, but who could potentially evolve into a thought leader driving strategic value of marketing data across the divisions in the medium to long term. I'm keen to establish a data-led approach to as many processes across the marketing functions (and beyond) as possible, so as much as there is an immediate need, I'm also looking at the wider use case for an analytical leader that can support conversations in other spheres.

Ideal to have knowledge (not to be an expert) in the following: 
1. GTM Audit feedback & questions
2. Web Measurement Plan (WMP)
3. Enhanced lead scoring methodologies
4. Address data discrepancies between platforms
5. Refining SEO & paid media tracking
6. Migration plan for the merging of all GA properties
7. Create a UTM strategy
