Introduction:As a Senior Data Analyst, you will lead the design and implementation of advanced analytical solutions that provide strategic insights and drive business value. You will collaborate with stakeholders to develop dashboards and analytical tools, mentor team members, and uphold standards of analytical excellence. Your role involves managing complex projects and providing expert guidance on data interpretation, visualization, and methodologies.

Responsibilities:

  1. Design and implement advanced Power BI solutions to meet complex analytical needs and deliver measurable business impact.
  2. Manage the full lifecycle of data and analytics projects, from requirements gathering to solution deployment and adoption.
  3. Mentor analysts, providing guidance on analysis, data modeling, and visualization best practices.
  4. Develop robust data models, utilize advanced DAX formulas, and perform efficient data transformations.
  5. Conduct data profiling and quality assessments to ensure accuracy and completeness of outputs.
  6. Optimize SQL queries and transformation logic for efficient reporting.
  7. Establish standardized development practices for dashboards and reports.
  8. Collaborate with data engineers to define data requirements and influence pipeline design.
  9. Engage with business stakeholders to identify opportunities for insights, automation, and process improvements.
  10. Implement data quality monitoring frameworks to maintain KPI integrity.
  11. Translate analytical findings into clear, actionable insights for diverse audiences.
  12. Enforce governance standards for self-service BI, metadata, and data access.
  13. Lead user acceptance testing (UAT) and conduct training to promote solution adoption.
  14. Stay informed on emerging tools and techniques to enhance analytical capabilities.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven experience in BI, analytics, or data science with impactful dashboard delivery.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills across large datasets.
  • Technical expertise in:
  • Power BI: DAX, data modeling, report optimization, workspace management.
  • SQL: advanced querying, performance tuning, CTEs, joins, aggregations.
  • Data visualization: UX design, storytelling, accessibility.
  • Data profiling and quality techniques.
  • Python (preferred): data exploration, automation, integration.
  • Knowledge of data modeling, star/snowflake schemas, semantic models.
  • Project leadership, prioritization, and cross-team coordination.
  • Stakeholder engagement and communication skills, especially with senior leaders.
  • Experience mentoring analysts and improving analytical maturity.
  • Understanding of data governance, lineage, and metadata management.
  • Familiarity with data warehouse and data lake architectures.
  • Experience with dashboard deployment and release processes.
  • Knowledge of insurance data, especially within the London Market and Lloyd’s, is highly advantageous.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate, Power BI, SQL) are a plus.
