Senior Data Analyst - Goss Company Description
Goss is a social gaming application that allows users to bet on their interests in a fun and gamified way. The platform offers a chance for women to bet on various topics such as reality TV shows, social media engagement, and celebrity fashion choices. With Goss, users can engage in friendly betting and enjoy the excitement of predicting outcomes.
Role Description
This is a full-time remote role for a Data Analyst at Goss. As a Data Analyst, you will be responsible for analyzing and interpreting data, developing statistical models, and communicating insights. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify patterns and trends, and provide recommendations based on data analysis.
The Opportunity
You'll define our data strategy, user segmentation, and growth analytics. You'll build predictive models and optimization systems that drive our core business metrics.
What You'll Own
Pricing Architecture & Economy Balancing: Analyze and optimize our currency and prize pricing, promo offerings, etc.
User Segmentation: Build our core user personas, define and improve customer level segmentation, and define engagement thresholds
Market Making Support: Establish betting lines and improve core algorithms
Marketing Analysis: Understand marketing cohort behaviours using facebook ads and cohorts
Reporting Infrastructure: Create automated dashboards for daily, weekly, and monthly KPIs
Real-Time Optimization: Build systems to monitor and optimize user engagement and monetization in real-time
Predictive Modeling: Develop churn prediction, lifetime value models, and user progression forecasting
Fraud Detection: Create automated systems to flag suspicious betting patterns and user behavior
Advanced Analytics: A/B testing infrastructure, cohort analysis, and revenue optimization models
Market Intelligence: Competitive analysis and market trend identification
What We're Looking For
Must-Haves
3+ years in mobile gaming, social casino or sportsbook analytics with proven track record of driving user retention and monetization
Strong SQL skills for complex data manipulation and analysis
Python proficiency for data modeling, automation, and statistical analysis
Dashboard expertise (Quicksights, Tableau, Looker, Power BI, or similar)
Statistical modeling experience including A/B testing, regression analysis, and user segmentation
Gaming industry knowledge of user lifecycle, retention mechanics, and monetization strategies
Game-Changers
Sportsbook or betting industry experience - Understanding of betting patterns, line setting, and risk management
Sweepstakes/social casino experience - Knowledge of compliance requirements and user behavior in this space
Fraud detection experience - Building systems to identify suspicious betting patterns
Real-time analytics experience - Systems that can react to user behavior changes quickly
Nice-to-Haves
Experience with entertainment/pop culture analytics
Machine learning experience for predictive modeling
Experience scaling analytics teams
