The role.

At Zilch, we are committed to driving customer experience and operational excellence through data. We’re seeking a proactive, detail-oriented Senior Data Analyst to enhance our data strategies and provide actionable insights. Key Responsibilities.

  • Data visualisation & storytelling:Build and enhance data visualisations (Looker or equivalent) that deliver clear insights, support decision-making, and improve visibility across departments.
  • Analytical ownership:Lead deep-dive analyses on business-critical topics (e.g., customer behaviour, product performance, operational efficiency) and present recommendations to stakeholders, including senior leadership.
  • Metric governance:Define, implement and evolve core metrics and KPIs, ensuring consistency, clarity and strategic alignment across teams.
  • Mentorship & peer development:Support the development of junior analysts through knowledge-sharing, feedback, and informal mentoring. Help establish a strong analytical culture built on collaboration and excellence.
  • Cross-functional influence:Operate as a trusted analytical partner to teams across Product, Finance, Risk, Operations and Underwriting, shaping strategy with data-backed insights.
  • Experimentation & optimisation:Design, execute and interpret A/B tests and experiments to assess new initiatives and guide iterative improvements.
  • Data quality & process improvement:Collaborate with Analytics Engineering and Product teams to improve data pipelines, automate workflows, and increase the scalability and reliability of analytics processes.
  • Enablement & leadership readiness:Contribute to the development of self-service data tools, documentation and processes that scale data literacy and analytical access across the organisation. Take ownership of domain areas and help define the future structure of the analytics function.
  • Proactive ownership:Demonstrates initiative, resilience and accountability when faced with ambiguity or change.

Required Skills & Experience.

  • Analytical & technical depth:Advanced SQL skills and experience with modern BI platforms (Looker). Familiarity with DBT, Python, or other analytical tools is a plus.
  • Proven impact:Strong track record of using data to influence business outcomes, drive efficiency, and inform strategic decisions.
  • Collaboration & communication:Excellent stakeholder management and interpersonal skills; thrives in cross-functional environments.
  • Business fluency:Comfortable working across product, commercial and operational domains with an eye on both customer impact and business results.
