Job Description Senior Biostatistician /n/n Details ofthe role: 3 years fixed term, full-time. Working pattern: Monday –Friday. /n/n About us… /n/n The Francis Crick Institute is Europe’slargest biomedical research institute under one roof. Ourworld-class scientists and staff collaborate on vital research tohelp prevent, diagnose and treat illnesses such as cancer, heartdisease, infectious diseases and neurodegenerative conditions. /n/nAbout the role… /n/n In this role you will provide data analysis aspart of the Bioinformatics & Biostatistics platform to supportto the UCLH-Francis Crick Institute clinical Legacy study, workingwithin UKRI supported PROVAC consortium in partnership with theproject leads at the University of Cambridge. PROVAC aims toenhance the SARS-CoV-2 vaccine strain selection process bydeveloping models to predict which variants may emerge in thefuture and measure immune responses against this potential futureevolution. This will enable researchers to choose the variant ofthe virus to utilise in the next vaccine and provide the bestpossible future population protection. /n/n You will supportanalysis of metadata and new experimental data within the PROVACcentralised data repository. Utilising a number of programming,statistical and data analysis techniques, you will analyse datafrom participants in the UCLH-Crick Legacy study, where theirclinical data is linked to a variety of measurements produced bytechnologies such as the latest high throughput genomictechnologies and multi-parameter serological data. A strength ofthe Legacy study is its rich metadata (including vaccinationhistory, infection episodes), in combination of differentlaboratory results: nasopharyngeal PCRs, viral sequencing; a suiteof serological testing; and increasingly assessment of the cellularresponses to infection and vaccination. /n/n What you will bedoing… /n/n As a Senior Biostatistician in the Bioinformatics &Biostatistics platform at the Crick, you will: /n/n /n/t - Workcollaboratively across the PROVAC collaboration to co-designexperiments, formulate analysis plans and interpret results. /n/t -Perform standard and advanced analyses of high-dimensional,data-intensive and complex research questions across the biomedicalresearch spectrum using bioinformatics, biostatistics, machinelearning and AI approaches. /n/t - Empower biologists to understandtheir datasets, using our broad training portfolio to enable datacuriosity and develop analytical skills. /n/t - Design innovativeapproaches for recurrent and novel projects, and deploycorresponding tools internally, across PROVAC and beyond. /n /n/nAbout you… /n/n You will bring… /n/n /n/t - A degree in a relevantsubject with an extensive analytical component.
