An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Royal Mail as a Data Analyst. In this position you shall develop techniques to harness and connect complex data sets from various locations across the business, including new datasets, in order to provide analysis and insight with a view to identifying revenue leakage, gaps in control and then translate that information into standard data sets that can ensure revenue leakage is identified and resolution processes established to collect revenue due and reduce leakage.

 

About the role

In this position you'll:

 

  • Develop data analysis helping to drive reduction in revenue leakage and streamline revenue processes, enhancing control environment (both Field and Data)
  • Identify new areas of data which would support the identification of revenue leakage through data analysis which can be used to support revenue resolution activity
  • Develop and design BAU analysis and insight for management decision making and escalation to stakeholders to address root causes of leakage
  • Identify, analyse and interpret trends or patterns in mail, customer or operational performance data to establish and resolve root cause of poor performance/leakage
  • Produce management information to monitor and report repeat incidents that are occurring across the organisation and manage issues through to resolution via identification of root causes through data
  • Deliver analysis and ad-hoc support for Revenue Protection related data sets to ensure new revenue risks are identified to the management team

 

About You

To excel in this position you will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

 

  • Strong analytical skills who can demonstrate expertise in analysing large and complex data sets to capture insights
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to present complex information in an understandable and compelling manner to drive action
  • Ability to disseminate interpret & analyse complex material to generate management information to support decision making
  • Excellent computer-based literacy including systems such as Excel/GCP/Qlik/Business Objects as well as the manipulation of data into management information
  • Proven ability to identify and troubleshoot data quality and product defect issues 
  • Expertise in managing large and complex data sets (including writing SQL queries)
  • A strong team focus, able to contribute effectively in a collaborative working environment, able to explain technical solutions to others
