Job Title: Reserving Lead - Casualty & Specialty (Reinsurance)
Location: London (Hybrid) 2days per week in the office

Overview:
We're seeking an experienced Reserving Actuary to lead reserving activities across Casualty and Specialty lines within a global reinsurance business. This is a high-impact, senior role offering the opportunity to drive reserving insights, influence underwriting strategies, and shape portfolio profitability.

You'll act as a trusted advisor to leadership and work closely with cross-functional teams including underwriting, claims, capital modelling, and data science. The role reports directly to the Chief Reserving Actuary - International and Reinsurance.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead quarterly reserving analysis for Casualty and Specialty reinsurance portfolios, presenting results to senior stakeholders.
Deliver insightful analysis on trends, emerging risks, and portfolio drivers to support strategic underwriting decisions.
Champion reserving best practices, ensuring consistency, rigour, and compliance with internal and regulatory standards.
Collaborate with underwriting, business actuarial, claims and capital modelling teams to align on profitability and risk perspectives.
Contribute to the parameterisation and validation of reserve risk for internal capital models.
Support regulatory deliverables, including the Statement of Actuarial Opinion and statutory audits.
Mentor and develop junior members of the reserving team.What We're Looking For:

Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (or equivalent)
Strong experience in London Market reserving, ideally across Casualty and Specialty (re)insurance
Deep understanding of actuarial reserving techniques, regulatory frameworks (e.g. US GAAP, Solvency II), and capital modelling interfaces
Ability to distil technical results into clear, commercially-focused insights
Proven experience influencing underwriting and senior stakeholders
Proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement and innovation
Strong communication, leadership and interpersonal skillsWhy This Role?
