Description

A leading Asset Management firm is looking to add a Quantitative Researcher to their Emerging Market Fixed Income team.

The role will be responsible for applying data and statistical models to assist the alpha idea generation and fundamental investment process. This position is fully integrated as part of the investment team and will involve consistent interaction with portfolio decision-makers, providing a chance to have a significant impact on investment decisions.

Key responsibilities:

  • Research and implement new models and use output from models to contribute to alpha idea generation across EM fixed income markets.
  • Develop enhancements to existing fixed income, macro econometric, and portfolio models.
  • Help create new, proprietary datasets on market flows and positioning, creating initial visualization of this data for Portfolio Managers.
  • Conduct platform maintenance and development, including database design, package development, front-end web apps, and maintenance of legacy code using technologies such as SQL, R, Python, Shiny, and Docker.

Candidate Profile:

  • Relevant experience as a quantitative analyst, data scientist, or software developer interested in applying their skills to macroeconomics and its impact on EM fixed income markets.
  • Aware of the latest developments within the Data Science community and current best practices for software development.
  • Strong communication skills and a “can do” attitude.
  • An innovative approach to problem-solving.
  • Interest in investments and financial markets.
