Principal Data Engineer

A leading global consultancy is seeking aPrincipal Data Engineerto join their team and drive large-scale data solutions using AWS and other cutting-edge technologies. This is an exciting opportunity to lead cross-functional teams in building modern, scalable data architectures across a range of industries.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and deployment of data pipelines using AWS services such as EMR, Glue, RedShift, Kinesis, Lambda, and DynamoDB (or open-source equivalents)
• Work closely with other engineering teams to integrate data components into production systems
• Manage structured and unstructured data from multiple sources, ensuring seamless ingestion and curation
• Guide and mentor junior engineers, while actively contributing to both data engineering and data science projects
• Collaborate in Agile environments, participating in Scrum ceremonies

Key Requirements:

• Proven experience in AWS cloud technologies for ETL pipeline design, data lake architecture, and data warehouse building
• Strong proficiency in Java, Python, Scala, SQL, and Spark for data pipeline development
• Familiarity with cloud technologies, serverless architectures, and container technologies
• Experience with data mining, machine learning, and natural language processing is a plus
• Strong leadership and team management skills
