Steer Automotive Group, the UK’s leading Accident Repair group, is looking for an experienced and business minded Data Analyst with experience working with PowerBI, to drive the further development and innovation of it’s existing PowerBI reporting suite.


Reporting to the group’s Director of Strategy, the successful candidate will have experience in PowerBI reporting and PowerBI app development and be able to take the group’s current reporting platforms and further enhance and develop them, working in conjunction with leaders throughout the business to enable data to drive their decision making by exception.


The successful candidate will be proficient in using PowerBI and DAX to build dynamic and user friendly reports within PowerBI, with experience working with PowerBI Apps, PowerAutomate and Microsoft Fabric also advantageous. They will be able to demonstrate an ability to not only analyse large semantic models, but also interpret and present them in a meaningful, engaging and intuitive way, driving user engagement.

Key objectives of the role

​Further develop Steer’s established PowerBI reporting suite for business wide use ​Innovate and produce new PowerBI reports, working with key partners to establish new data feeds and identifying further business opportunities through the analysis of data and engagement with senior leadership in all areas of the business (including leadership within Operations, People, Brand, IT, Finance, Commercial, ESG and M&A teams) ​Maintain and administrate PowerBI reports, working in conjunction with Steer’s IT team ​Drive user engagement strategies to increase use and knowledge of Steer’s unique reporting capability throughout the group ​Produce well presented reports in PowerPoint that will be used at board level within the group

Key skills required

​Proficient in the use of Excel and PowerBI with an array or related semantic models, including use PowerQuery and other associated tools ​Experience in using DAX and advanced Excel formulas, with experience in M, R, SQL or VBA useful but not essential ​Ability to create reports that present data to users in a professional, intuitive and engaging manner ​Proficient use of the wider Microsoft Office suite including the production of PowerPoint presentations
