This permanent position involves overseeing all performance and data analysis aspects of the car's operation at test events, ensuring car performance optimisation through simulation, telemetry data analysis, and precise setup configurations. The role also includes optimising the car's control systems, such as differential, brake bias and migration, and PU torque maps. Attendance at all Heritage Car associated events is expected.Key Responsibilities:Promote teamwork and effective communication across all personnel and departments.Support the Heritage Chief Engineer in all performance and data analysis aspects of car operation.Ensure control systems are set-up and working within FIA guidelines.Collaborate with Ferrari electronics, ERS, and engine engineers on all aspects of the car systems.Perform lap time simulation work for pre-event preparation, analysis during events, and post-event correlation and analysis.Suggest setup changes based on simulation and track data analysis.Manage setup sheets and files for both car build and simulation purposes.Monitor telemetry data from both reliability and performance perspectives.Manage overlays for driver during and post-session.Evaluate, analyse, and summarise technical data, simulation data, geometry info, tyre information, 7-post data, wind tunnel data, etc.Publish post-event performance reports.Support current car Race Team when required.Adhere to all safety regulations in all venues.Undertake other duties as assigned by the Heritage Chief Engineer or their designee.Job Requirements:Engineering degreeExperience as a trackside engineer, preferably in Formula 1, either as a Performance or Controls EngineerExperience in other motorsport formulas would be beneficialSpecialised Knowledge and Skills:Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.Deep technical background in racing car performance and vehicle dynamicsSolid understanding of car/system design, operation, build, and preparationAbility to maintain high standards under stressful and time-sensitive conditionsCapability to prioritise workload and efficiently manage timeTeam player with proficiency in collaborating with personnel at all levelsQuick decision-making skills, with a scientific and analytical approach to problem-solvingEmpathetic and integrative approach towards colleaguesPositive attitude with a readiness to assist othersEquipment and Applications Knowledge:Excellent knowledge of ATLAS, SECU, and System MonitorExperience with MATLAB/SimulinkFamiliarity with lap time simulation tools and simulator environmentsWork Environment and Physical Demands:An ability to work and prioritise within a high-pressure, time-sensitive environment while retaining a methodical approach is essential. The role may require extensive international travel and a willingness to work long and flexible hours, including weekends. This position may involve lifting up to 50 pounds, repeated bending, squatting, and manual dexterity. The work environment includes machinery, race cars, 7-post and other rigs, grinding debris, and hazardous fluids. All employees must ensure compliance with company health and safety policies and relevant health and safety legislation.
