Shape better services as a Pensions Project Data Analyst.

We are looking for people with either previous technical pensions experience or from a complex data analysis background within financial services.

We would also like to hear from you if you are a Graduate with a maths’ based degree looking to start a career in pensions where we will provide you with the training and support to succeed in your role. We will also put in place a succession plan so you are able to further build your career at Capita.

What is essential is that you have advanced Excel skills including vlookups, macros, and bulk data.

When trained, what you will be doing:

Key Responsibilities
  • To work with the Senior Data Technicians, Scheme Events Leads, and Scheme Event Manager to deliver requirements for Scheme Events and Projects (time scales, deliverables, quality, sign off) and to input into the planning process.
  • To be responsible for the accuracy and quality of Scheme Events and Projects.
  • Identify and report risks and breaches immediately to line management and/or the Operational Risk & Compliance Department.
  • Regularly review the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and controls and make suggestions to continually enhance service delivery, improve processes, and reduce potential complaints and business risks.
  • Identifying and reporting risks and breaches immediately to the Breach Specialists and Service Delivery Manager and to the Operational Risk & Compliance Department and ensuring the appropriate controls are in place to facilitate this.
  • Adhere to Quality Management Systems and comply with pensions and FCA regulations and initiatives, for example, Treating Customers Fairly (TCF).
  • To support and assist the management team where required in all aspects of service delivery and business support for example, ad hoc projects, auditing, etc.
Key Tasks
  • To deliver key projects and scheme events.
  • Performs data processes, including the following:
    • Running and specifying data extracts from the administration system including bespoke reports.
    • Transforming extracted data or data received into the required format and structure.
    • Performing and specifying data uploads to the administration system.
    • Building Mail Merge letters.
    • Performing bulk calculations in Excel.
  • Creating audit trails of all work and communications using the Team’s best practice.
  • Testing bulk communications and calculations using the Team’s best practice.
  • Providing project updates and time scales to Scheme Events Leads, Project Managers, and Scheme Event Manager.
What we’re looking for:

Essential

  • Degree with a maths element or work experience involving complex data analysis or technical pensions calculations/analysis in financial services.
  • Excel - Demonstrate the ability to use filters, sorting, pivot tables (rows, columns, grouping, filters, and totalling).
  • Excel – Can use formulas including lookups, IF, and nested IF statements, date calculations, and formatting of cells to specific guidelines.
  • Excel - Can import data/text files and use data validation.
  • Accuracy, attention to detail, and quality management.
