We are looking for a highly motivated & capable candidate to join our UK and EU operations team. This role is ideal for someone with strong analytical skills who can break down complex operational processes, ensure compliance with energy regulatory frameworks, and drive process optimisation and synergy across operational teams. 


​You will work closely with the wider operations team to deliver operational improvements, analyse performance data, and support regulatory and commercial reporting across our energy and flexibility portfolios.

Role Description


​OakTree Power is looking for someone who has an interest in the energy and renewable sector, particularly in sustainability and net-zero goals. With a minimum of five years’ experience in flexibility markets, including DSO tenders and balancing services, the role will support the execution of OakTree Power’s energy strategy through data-driven insights, operational analysis, and cross-functional collaboration. Strong communication skills are essential, as the role will work closely with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders to translate complex data and market requirements into clear, actionable outcomes.  

Job Responsibilities: 

  • ​Analyse operational and energy data across client portfolios to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for optimisation. 
  • ​Ensure compliance with energy regulatory bodies (e.g., Ofgem, EU energy regulators) and operational requirements for demand flexibility programmes. 
  • ​Support the development and implementation of operational strategies to improve efficiency, reliability, and regulatory compliance across UK and EU operations. 
  • ​Strengthen process alignment and synergy between operational teams, data systems, and business functions. 
  • ​Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand strategic and operational priorities, providing analytical and compliance support. 
  • ​Continuously review operational and compliance performance to provide insights, identify improvements, and embed best practices. 
  • ​Produce clear, accurate, and insightful reports on operational performance, exposures, risks, and compliance, presenting findings effectively to drive decision-making. 
  • ​Contribute to cross-functional projects supporting the scaling of OakTree Power’s operations across the UK and EU. 
  • ​Experience collaborating with Development teams to ensure solutions devised meet the needs of the business/clients 
  • ​Support the Project Managers as required by feeding into the projects and business readiness plans 
  • ​Complete administrative duties  


​Job Requirements and Skills 

​Essential: 


  • ​Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Energy Management. 
  • ​3 - 5 years’ experience in operational support, data analysis, or energy/industrial sector roles. 
  • ​Understanding of energy regulatory frameworks and operational compliance requirements. 
  • ​Strong analytical and reporting skills, with proficiency in Excel and Power BI (or equivalent tools). 
  • ​Ability to work with complex datasets, identify trends, and support process improvement. 

​Desirable: 

  • ​Exposure to energy efficiency, demand flexibility, or multi-site operational environments. 
  • ​Experience with SQL, Python, or workflow automation. 
  • ​Familiarity with UK/EU energy market operations, capacity market rules, or DNO procedures. 
  • ​Certifications such as Power BI, Six Sigma Green Belt, or Energy Management. 

​Skills and Attributes 

  • ​Exceptional analytical ability and attention to detail. 
  • ​Strong oral and written communication abilities 
  • ​Strong understanding of energy regulatory compliance and operational procedures. 
  • ​Ability to translate complex data into actionable operational and compliance insights. 
  • ​Process-oriented mindset, capable of identifying inefficiencies and driving improvement. 
  • ​Collaborative and clear communicator with excellent stakeholder management skills. 
  • ​Comfortable with complexity, ambiguity, and cross-functional problem-solving. 
  • ​Proactive, curious, and motivated to learn and grow within the energy sector 
  • ​Proficiency in English + European languages
