About the role
We are seeking an Open Access Data Analyst to join the Open Access Payments Team within Open Access Collections at the Bodleian Libraries, working to support Open Access at Oxford. The Open Access Data Analyst will work across a number of services supporting this area of work to collect and glean insights from the data to inform decision making processes, whilst also working to support the maintenance and development of the Oxford Open Access Payments system. The Open Access Payments Team is responsible for the administration of APCs and BPCs (article / book processing charges), the compliance checks and corrections of these outputs, and reporting data to associated parties. The postholder will be responsible for providing data-driven reports to show uptake and spend, and guide strategic and financial decision making. The role will include identifying data sources for collecting, cleaning, analysis and interpretation. Data will be reported to stakeholders at various levels by differing means within the University. The primary focus of this role will be data analytics, though the candidate may be required to support the administration of APCs and BPCs, and associated duties. This post provides a great opportunity to utilise data-handling and presentation skills in the newer and still-developing area of research output data management. This is a full-time, permanent position, working 36.5 hours per week. This position offers the opportunity to work up to three days remotely per week.About You
The postholder will be computer literate as duties will primarily focus on gathering, cleaning and presenting data from/with a variety of sources and software. A proactive attitude is essential as the postholder will be required to interpret data needs and requirements, and provide colleagues with data-sets to aid decision making. The postholder will enjoy data-wrangling and analytics as highlighting patterns and trends, and forecasting possibilities, will be a large-part of the role. The postholder will ensure that data adheres to copyright, compliance and other regulations affecting the dissemination of the work. When required, the role may require processing APC, so good attention to detail is crucial. Good interpersonal and communication skills are important as there will be regular contact with academics, publishers and various other stakeholders, to advise on policy, process, reporting requirements and other related queries. This will occur via a range of communication channels and helpdesks. The postholder will also assist authors with payment, and understand their responsibilities with regards to policies affecting research publications. The varied nature of the role means that being able to work independently and part of a team are essential.What We Offer
