This role is categorized as onsite, expecting the successful candidate to report to Concord, NC on a full-time basis.
The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Data Engineer to join the Aero Innovation team within the Motorsports Aerodynamic Department. Your primary responsibility will be to develop complex data pipelines and data-processing systems that enhance our aerodynamics development activities for motorsport and high-performance production vehicles. As part of our multi-disciplinary team, you will design, develop, and optimize solutions to address technical challenges, contributing significantly to our competitiveness.

What You’ll Do
- Architect, design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines for large structured and unstructured data from multiple sources.
- Integrate data from various platforms and systems (on-premises and cloud databases, data lakes, APIs, third-party vendors).
- Ensure data integrity, consistency, and quality through automated validation and monitoring.
- Identify and optimize performance bottlenecks in data workflows.
- Collaborate with Data Scientists, Product Managers, Engineers, and Aerodynamicists to translate requirements into data solutions.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices.
- Prepare technical reports, specifications, and presentations for stakeholders.
Additional Job Description
What You’ll Need (Required Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.
- 5+ years in data engineering, processing, or related fields.
- Proficiency in Python, C++, Java.
- Experience with Kafka, Flink, Databricks.
- Managing distributed systems like SLURM, LSF.
- Knowledge of relational and non-relational databases (SQL, MongoDB).
- Familiarity with AWS, Azure.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Effective collaboration skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

- Master’s degree in relevant fields.
- Experience in motorsports industry.
- Knowledge of data governance, privacy, security best practices.
- Experience with HPC architecture.
- Instrumentation and Data Acquisition systems experience.
- Developing Live Streaming data pipelines.
- Familiarity with aerodynamic testing.
