Job Title: Microbiome Expert
Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Microbiome Expert to join our team in advancing research and applications in gut microbiome science. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in microbiome analysis, bioinformatics, and its translational applications in health, nutrition, and medicine. This role offers the opportunity to work at the cutting edge of microbiome research, contributing to innovative solutions in personalized medicine, gut health restoration, and longevity programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Microbiome Research & Analysis:
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of microbiome datasets, including 16S rRNA sequencing, metagenomics, and metatranscriptomics.
  • Develop pipelines and methodologies for microbiome profiling and functional analysis.
  • Interpret microbiome data to identify actionable insights related to gut health, metabolic disorders, and disease associations.
  1. Data Integration & Bioinformatics:
  • Integrate microbiome data with multi-omics datasets (genomics, metabolomics, proteomics) to explore complex biological interactions.
  • Utilize bioinformatics tools and AI-driven analytics to identify patterns and causal relationships in large datasets.
  • Develop predictive models linking microbiome features to health outcomes or treatment responses.
  1. Translational Applications:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design personalized interventions (probiotics, prebiotics, dietary plans) based on microbiome data.
  • Contribute to the development of gut restoration programs and microbiome-based longevity strategies.
  • Support clinical trial design and execution to validate microbiome-targeted interventions.
  1. Collaboration & Communication:
  • Work closely with researchers, clinicians, and product teams to translate microbiome insights into impactful solutions.
  • Present findings to stakeholders, including scientific audiences and non-experts.
  • Contribute to peer-reviewed publications, white papers, and technical reports.

  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in microbiome science and related fields.
  • Explore and implement emerging technologies in microbiome analysis and therapeutics.
  • Participate in patent development and intellectual property initiatives related to microbiome applications.

Qualifications and Skills:

Required:

  • PhD or Master’s degree in Microbiology, Bioinformatics, Molecular Biology, Systems Biology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in microbiome research and analysis, including bioinformatics tools like QIIME, DADA2, Kraken, and MetaPhlAn.
  • Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Python, R) for data analysis and visualization.
  • Strong understanding of gut microbiome-host interactions, microbial ecology, and their role in health and disease.
  • Experience with statistical and machine learning approaches for biological data.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex findings to diverse audiences.

Preferred:

  • Experience working with multi-omics datasets and integrating microbiome data with genomics, metabolomics, or transcriptomics.
  • Knowledge of clinical trial processes and regulatory requirements for microbiome-related interventions.
  • Familiarity with dietary science, probiotics, or gut-brain axis research.
  • Publications in peer-reviewed journals in the field of microbiome science or related areas.
