insight and learnings

  • Maintain client and agency benchmark studies

  • Enable fast, easy, self-serve BI in every team, helping everyone to spend time on what really

matters.

The Team

The Analytics & Insight team are responsible for leveraging the vast amounts of client data to discover insights, identify opportunities and build data products to drive the business forwards. They do this through the use of statistical, algorithmic and visualisation techniques.

As a Media Insight Analyst, you will work with members of the team to scope, plan, build and deliver a range of analytics projects. This could involve supporting the media planning teams with research, customised reports and implementation of bespoke data management processes, supporting senior analysts to build advanced forecasting models, managing a data pipeline to power a visualisation dashboard, or something else entirely different – no two days will be the same.

They collect data from dozens of data sources, ranging from industry research, macroeconomic data, web analytics info, transactional data, subscriptions and memberships, customer event-level data, media data, third party data and much, much more. Their data is extremely varied, some being very finely grained, event-level data, others being already aggregated to various degrees. It also arrives on different schedules!

The business logic they apply to the data is complex and the end uses for data are varied. All this requires well-designed, robust, future-proofed data visualisation and performance reporting skills that can keep up with the business and support our ambitious plans to unlock the value of data strategically.

About You

  • A deep interest and enthusiasm in data and using data to support continuous business improvement
  • Exceptional Excel skills (including vlookup, pivot tables and advanced charting techniques) is a major pre-requisite for this role. Use of DAX and Power Query is highly desirable.
  • Solid experience of digital media performance evaluation and reporting – preferably within an agency environment
  • Some experience of working with media data integration tools such as Supermetrics, Improvado, Funnel or Alteryx would be advantageous.
  • Confident in writing SQL and a good understanding of database design.
  • Solid exposure to building and managing marketing performance dashboards using Power BI (preferred) or Tableau would be a huge benefit
  • Experience working with automated data collation through use of web APIs.

And you are...

  • Pro-active with a self-starter mindset; able to identify elegant solutions to difficult problems and able to suggest new and creative approaches.
  • Analytical, problem-solving and an effective communicator; leveraging technology and subject matter expertise in the business to accelerate our roadmap.
  • Able to document business insight clearly, in plain English, making knowledge easily transferable to the wider team.
  • Confident in presenting analysis, recommendations and strategy to senior stakeholders
  • Highly collaborative in work style
  • Curious and inquisitive
  • Willing to step outside your comfort zone to broaden your skills and learn new technologies.

Benefits

  • 25 days Holiday
  • Workplace pension scheme (after probationary period)
  • Flexible working
  • Personalised training program to develop technical, media and career competencies
  • BUPA Employee Assistance Programme
  • Bike to Work Scheme
