About the Role

This is a 6 month fixed term contract and we are looking for someone who can start the role as soon as possible. It would suit either a PhD student looking for an internship or a PhD holder looking for a fixed term contract.


What You'll Do


  • Conduct independent research in audio and speech processing, focusing on signal processing, machine learning, and deep learning.
  • Design and implement innovative algorithms for audio/speech analysis, enhancement, separation, and understanding.
  • Develop software prototypes and experimental systems with high code quality and maintainability.
  • Collect, analyze, and prepare data for training and evaluating machine learning models.
  • Evaluate algorithm performance through rigorous experimentation and statistical analysis.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate research findings into Samsung products and services.
  • Publish research results in top-tier conferences and journals.


Who We're Looking For


Required Skills

  • PhD in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Proven research experience in audio and speech processing, demonstrated through publications in top-tier conferences/journals (e.G., ICML, NeurIPS, ICLR, INTERSPEECH, ICASSP, IEEE/ACM TASLP).
  • Strong programming skills in Python;
    proficiency in C++ is aplus.
  • Solid understanding of machine learning and deep learning fundamentals.
  • Experience with machine learning frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.


Desirable Skills

  • Experience with audio signal processing techniques (e.G., filter design, spectral analysis).
  • Experience with speech recognition, text-to-speech, speech enhancement, or natural language processing.
  • Experience with generative AI in the context of audio/speech technologies.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.G., Git) and software development best practices.
  • Knowledge of cloud computing platforms (e.G., AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Experience with large-scale data processing and distributed computing.
